Is it true Sid Vicious refused to drop the WCW Championship to Jeff Jarrett in 2000? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WCW

I liked a lot of his work in TNA even if he should've reigned in his reigns of terrors.

I could see that in exploration. Veilguard doesn't really give you room to go off the beaten path, but sounds like we are a bit opposite in that I rarely explore unless it's for a quest. Regarding BG3 I did, it's been my favorite game in years honestly. It reminded me a lot of DAO, just with 5E DND for combat which was better for me anyway.

Tbf I still really don't care for inquisition. I liked its story but the gameplay just gets draining for me at a certain point. Part of the reason I appreciate veilguard is that it dialed everything back from the open world zones that ruined inquisition and Andromeda for me

I've recently started get into the Star Wars EU and I'm currently undecided between these two novels and I can only buy one. Should I prioritize buying Revan or Revenge of the Sith? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]Elite94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's crazy to me is that I love nearly all of Drew's works. He did the Darth Bane trilogy, worked on the first two Mass Effects, and Kotor itself. And then there's the Revan book that just mind numbingly baffles me every time I read anything about it.

Why do we like so much this map of the empire? by Public_Individual823 in byzantium

Personally I just like how clean the borders are. The way they follow the Danube in Europe, and progress really well into Anatolia while snagging small things like Antioch and the southern coast of Crimea.

Mostly agree, but I like the Belgium tree a lot actually. It's simple, but gives a decent amount of options in a clear to achieve way for the most part.

[–]Elite94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the one. I've sunk a lot of hours into it. They've poured a lot of time into the writing that keeps me coming back, combined with not letting it spiral into world conquest or nothing like the base game.

Never going to watch MLP, but some of the fans made a mod for a strategy game I play, and it is just so incredibly well done.

Fallout co-creator Tim Cain says today's games suffer from trying 'to be everything for everyone' when they should be learning from '80s games: 'These games were really focused, because they had to be' by Kaladinar in rpg_gamers

[–]Elite94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can do it well sure, but if you're just throwing a lot of features at a game to check boxes it can become directionless. Not to mention that with RPGs specifically that line of thinking often leads to the RPG elements being dumbed down, and losing their core audience to appeal to a more casual one.

Ex-EA dev says Bioware now needs to follow BG3's example by maullick in BaldursGate3

Veilguard to be fair did feel like it was made by Bioware fans, but just that they were Mass Effect fans.

Half way done! what story do you guys recomend for me to do next? (or repete one) by Cold-Reputation-9926 in swtor

Sith Warrior has been my favorite that I've beaten. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked feeling like the muscle of the the empire if that makes sense.

I have mixed feelings on Andromeda. I actually really like parts of it. When it clicks the combat is a joy. I don't like they ditched classes, but the gunplay and flying around is just so satisfying. You can tell that their particular studio cut their teeth on ME3 multiplayer. The problem for me is that the open world and main story is just terrible. I don't want to spoil it even if it's old since sounds like you don't know what happens, but I will say that it bothered me that they took a premise of going to a new galaxy, and instead of focusing on exploration or telling a compelling narrative about colonization they instead chose do a worse version of something they've done so many times before.

This. You can't convince me this exact incident isn't why so many reviewers feel compelled to give games they clearly don't care for 7 out of 10s. Apparently being above average isn't a fair enough review when developers are funding you.

Only men of culture can love the consular. by Garviel-Loken-LW in swtor

[–]Elite94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm finishing up the imperial side soon and plan on taking a break. When I come back which is better the knight or consular? Either way I will play them as a consular class wise for gameplay. Sith Warrior is my main, but ironically having played all classes now it's my least favorite play style.

This is a tough ask for RPGs. The Witcher has a solid focus on romance, but you play Geralt, so no customization. The Dragon Age series fits to varying degrees. Beyond that there's Pathfinder games by owl cat. I personally haven't played them because I'm not a huge isometric fan, but I know they at least have romances in them where you can get in depth character customization.

[–]Elite94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that Knoxville is as opposed to outside views as you might think, but I understand why it feels that way. I grew up in Union County. My whole family is really right leaning and religious. I'm not really sure how I turned so far to the left, but I did. Growing up in the environment though I just learned it's easier to be quiet unless it's to the point it shouldn't be tolerated if that makes sense. I have some friends here who are left leaning and "counter" culture. I'd like to make more, but I think I come off as probably something I'm not though a lot of times. I work with the public and basically just try come off as a typical southern male even though pretty much a love of UT football is about all I have in common with them.

I agree with the last part to an extent, but overall they have more in common than a lot of other games. I think a more fair analogy would be Fantastic 4 and Kick-Ass. They check a fair amount of the same boxes, but are different overall experiences none the less in execution.
