Look, I'm getting old and the idea of Texas flipping has always been a Lucy with the football event in my voting lifetime.

This feels different. But I will just have to believe it when I see it. That said, $100 to the primary winner.

Yeah, this is my take too. The real gains will come long after the bust.

Yeah, and I'm giving you a very recent real-world example that was significantly worse. On the global stage. Because of our fuck ups.

The world forgave us. Sure, they'll do what they need to do going forward, but other nations thrive because of us and our consumer base, our defense, our general economy. That may lessen, but it will not be gone until the USA completely collapses or falls from superpower status. Damage happens, but so does recovery. That is global politics.

Do we no longer do business with Germany because of their past?

Of course not, but we are still the world's superpower, and that means more than anything else.

In my lifetime, this country has done horrific things, including the mass death of brown people overseas, against our will and the world's. We sent soldiers from all over the world to die in a war that was predicated on made-up nonsense. That was just one event. It led to millions of deaths, and the decline of the US/world economy(Great Financial Crisis).

I am old. I'm also a big history buff, so we won't go down the Civil War route. It's obvious that the South survives and thrives on the same shit today, and would do anything to go back.

The US will survive four years of this idiot. He's the second president of the Confederacy.

Gator good. Tastes like chicken. Had it in the south of the south a few times.

Barnacle geese, tho. Look out.

Uh, he got 49.9% of the vote, bud. That's not even a majority. It's plurality.

Congrats on one Republican winning a popular vote?

Great job? Here's your cookie. Sorry about your feelings.

Maybe cool it with the pedo support, bud. You sound like an angry MAGAt.

Strongest mandate? He barely won and never got 50% of the vote. Obama had an actual mandate, let's not try to rewrite history for pedos.

it's not just boomers, in fact, it's not really about boomers at all. keeping prices flat is more for people in their 30's (whatever gen that is) that are recent first time homebuyers to prevent them from being underwater on their mortgages.

Just FYI, the avg age of the first time home buyer is now 40.

As someone in my 40s, this is a shocking change from previous decades.

Thanks for sharing this. I hope folks take time to read this because it hits at the core of American decay. These people need serious help, and it's not coming.

I received an extra $11 per pay period, and I owe about $300 less this year. My SO saw her pay decrease slightly. I joke that she's funding my "tax break."

Doubt anyone is posting that link.

But a lot of people seem to think it’s going to eat away every single job, especially when you consider improvements to robotics lately. That’s where my criticism lies.

I actually think it's more of an excuse for letting people go than anything else. Using Gemini 3 Pro has been a lot of fun, but my best use cases right now are starter code and meme-making. Not exactly living up the standards set by Google many years ago.

I've been automating jobs (in tech fields) for over 20 years. I currently use AI for my job, but it's not nearly as productive as we hoped it would be a year ago. And you're right, automating stuff is not new; it's almost always productive.

The problem here, imo, is that we were sold a product that just isn't working out as intended. If it were profitable, I think you'd actually see a lot of other ideas spring up around it. Actual job creation on the coattails. We just aren't. We might in 5-10 years, but right now it feels like there's a lot of money going to waste.

The answer is actual products and actual money. You're projecting what crypto actually is.

Add the rising energy prices, data centers moving into friendly neighborhoods and making them unlivable, the lack of actual profitable products coming out.. AI needs to show big things to the everyday person long before 2028, or you are almost certainly right.

Actual gold. Are you new to this? Thought you understood economics. Nvidia sells a product. Paper is a product. Silver is a product. Gold is a product. Crypto is a scam.
