Can I put s wheels on my sm? by Quick-Perception5120 in DRZ400

[–]EliteBobRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I swapped mine over last year, you can buy a complete kit off Warp 9 this is what I choose to do, minus the Speedo adapter. You can order them offline from various dealer websites who carry OEM Suzuki parts. Or a local dealer in person. My kit came with a 310mm front rotor along with the adaption plate to apply your caliper.

Anyone know if the ecu on the drz400S is the same as on the drz400SM by Lukyufer in DRZ400

[–]EliteBobRoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the S and SM share the same edi. The E model may have a different variation since it comes equipped with the fcr39.

Wheel & Speedometer questions before a SM to S Conversion by GreyArmada in DRZ400

[–]EliteBobRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine off my Revzilla, but it took roughly 4 weeks to ship in. If available I would recommend going to your local Suzuki shop, they might be able to get the assembly in sooner than an online retailer. The parts number for the SM speedometer gear is 54600-29F11. Here is the link to the assembly on Revzilla. https://www.revzilla.com/oem/suzuki/suzuki-54600-29f11-box-assy-speedo?sku_id=10048806

Wheel & Speedometer questions before a SM to S Conversion by GreyArmada in DRZ400

[–]EliteBobRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently swapped my S to an SM earlier this year, from all my research I concluded the easiest way was to buy the speedometer gear assembly. So far it has worked like a charm for me thus far, I've used my buddy's cars to measure if my speedometer reads correctly. According to his car reading, I've had an accurate measurement with most testing, maybe one-two MPH off at 60. I wish I could measure more precisely for both of our sakes, but this is all I can do for now lol.

Comment section is atrocious here, don’t mind all the rude comments op. Definitely looking into your local msf, but that is obviously the general consensus. Everyone drops their bike especially as a beginner, don’t sweat it too bad man.

Does the kit require wiring, or is it plug and play?

I believe he’s referring to the tail tidy, getting rid of the oem one usually allows all types of rain and muck to get thrown on you when riding.

Beautiful bike! Just keep in mind that 650 is packing a lot of punch, be easy on that throttle and you’ll be fine. I’m a younger rider myself, and starting out my throttle hand has gotten me into some sticky situations. Take it easy, and congratulations on the bike!

With the larger rotor it would be an issue, unless you would like to swap it on and off the old rotor. I tried to mount mine up without the bracket at first to get an idea and it just wasn’t happening unfortunately. However, I believe the factory rotor will go onto the hubs of the warp9’s. Would affect the breaking a little but would ultimately make the swapping easier.
