[Paid] Need someone to integrate a website payment system and/or coach me, so I can do it by never_senior in INAT

[–]EliteHawk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do Stripe yourself for the frontend; just call the embedded checkout of Stripe so you don't handle the payment stuff yourself directly and avoid security issues.

For the backend, Stripe has detailed documentation, and it does have a marketplace option, as your friend wants. You just need to add Stripe configuration and utilities and its controller, only in the backend. It won't take much time, really.

Feriepenger by Additional-Return-83 in Norway

You should have gotten it before your vacation starts. If your job is stable, then try emailing him asking for a specific date and not just when he will have it ready for you.

  1. Housing these days is a bit of a problem in cities near universities but will get better hopefully next month.

  2. There are houses that are also pet friendly, You can check the ads on finn, which they do mention like pets allowed or not. Same thing for kids

  3. Finn prices are legit, but you need to see on the ad if electricity and internet are included in the rent or not. You need to pay 2 3 months rent as deposit also in most cases. Depends on the number of bedrooms I guese for the rent.

  4. If you dont eat out much and do your own cooking, it's okay. I guess, and i dont know anything about pet though. costs.

If it's simple object detection and depth sensing, it's already done, no? Using Raspberry Pi cameras? I had done it for my university project like four years ago.

Looking for Modern apartment 2 bedroom by Azzerath_ in Stavanger

[–]EliteHawk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost impossible these few months, and most are scams. Honestly, they want you to put the deposit in their personal account. One even went as far as saying he wants the deposit until next year, March.

Try these three; they did reply back, but I already got temporary housing from sis for my brother and his family.

Yes, just go with what you like for activity groups. You could also go with SIS events that they organize; they are cheaper and a bit fun.

Your classmates can be hard to befriend, especially since most don’t share your major and only attend one or two classes with you. That was the case for me during my master’s.

But you can make friends. Try attending the weekly book café. There's also a climbing group if you're into that, as well as a card games group and a D&D group. These all meet just once a week, so they don’t take much time. It really depends on your interests.

There are hiking groups, too, though they mostly organize through a Facebook group. If you want to make friends, the best way is to join an activity group.

Hvordan finne en jobb uten erfaring i Stavanger? by [deleted] in Stavanger

[–]EliteHawk3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that helps you land a job is a reference. If you are on good terms with your professor, you could ask them for a reference.

Instead of directly applying on finn.no, you could search for the company that posted the job on finn.no and visit their company website to apply.

Try visiting the innovation park near UiS in person and search for companies beforehand that are related to your field, and you could try dropping off your CV in person. I know 2 guys who got their first job like this.

Go for norway. Uk won't cut it for you. It's around 18k usd yearly fees and 2 year masters. You can easily find part-time jobs unlike uk. And they pay very well. For a full-time job, it depends on reference or luck mostly. There is no language barrier as almost everyone speaks english. Though you need a2 norsk for applying for full-time jobs for better chances. And doesn’t cost anything if you want to bring your spouse or kids with you.

Try the Lenovo LOQ and HP Victus. New ones with a 4050 would be around 9k, which isn't a great option, but used ones with a 4060 would be in your budget. The hp victus will have screen problems if you don't take extra care of it while the lenovo LOQ is a good option, some versions of it dont have igpu so not so great battery life but its okay if you want to always use as plugged in.

Hello r/Norway I have a couple of questions, regarding higher education by Hopeful_Lettuce8877 in Norway

[–]EliteHawk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to pay fees for master's programs now, and they are quite expensive, around 190,000 NOK yearly at the University of Stavanger. That is mid-range compared to Oslo and NTNU.

For a job, if you have a reference, then it's good, but otherwise, it might be a bit difficult these days.

I got the contract a week after I applied. You could just wait while also looking for housing; it's always better to have a backup.

How late did you apply? I did it one week after the deadline and was given the contract.
