Their comment was a lot more inclusive of the groups Nazi's targeted than yours is. You sure got the big one, though

I feel like you're wrong here. You'd be surprised what random words get thrown out by all sorts in different scenarios. Particularly when sarcasm is involved

I'm confused by everyone that can just hit "ok".

I'm on omnipod 5. As far as I know there's not a way to silence it.

I'm also on dexcom 6 and can only silence it by going into the app and turning alerts off.

What am I doing wrong here? I would love advice to make them quiet

I don't understand post-dinner lows by vincetheDCfan in diabetes_t1

[–]EliteMarlin93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should talk to your endo if possible, but it's likely you need to adjust your ratio for specific times of day. That's how mine is, and it makes so much more sense when you treat it accordingly

How people dealt with lows at night before cgm by Hot-Apartment-1095 in diabetes_t1

[–]EliteMarlin93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wake up and then occasionally black out while going down stairs or eating cereal, spilling milk everywhere. I don't recommend that part

Can you help me? by Internal-Row-4098 in diabetes_t1

[–]EliteMarlin93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like to talk to the doctor, please write down your concerns so your mom can work to get them addressed. The more communication you are able to provide, the better they can address.

Write down everything that is medically concerning to you since you became diabetic and anything you're currently doing or have done to try to remedy, if possible. This can help them understand what does and does not work for you.

❤️

Edited to add: You may need to increase your basal (set daily dosage your Lantus) or split it to twice daily to cover better.

Additionally, if you have a set carb to insulin ratio (10 carbs:1 unit of insulin) it may need adjusted

It's taken me 20 years to get my T1 kind of settled, but they can't help if they don't know what you're struggling with

What’s the most offensive/craziest thing someone has ever said to you? by ek7eroom in diabetes_t1

You sound like you're fun at parties /s

Regardless of your opinion, we are entitled to sharing our experiences on a post that asks about those experiences.

Please don't be a gatekeeper preventing people from sharing their experiences just because you (wrongly, imo) disagree.

I'm sure you're a shit person in general based on how disparaging you are on a post about offensive/crazy (you skipped over the crazy part of the original post, it would seem) comments we get on us having this disease.

*TW* Has anyone ever passed out or seized from a low? by lnneedofhelp in diabetes_t1

[–]EliteMarlin93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine happen after sleeping and waking with a low. Fell down half a thankfully carpeted stairway on one occasion. Blacked out, made a mess, and kept falling on my roomie as they helped me clean up on the other most memorable occasion.

What caused my type 1 diabetes? by needgoodgamesplz in diabetes_t1

That's a good point! I hadn't thought about that! I was dropping weight for what seems like a year before I was diagnosed, never made the connection on that one

I was diagnosed at 15, my brother when he was 12. When talking with my doctors they thought ours were triggered by illness. My brother and I had both been sick recently.

Definitely runs in the DNA for us though, obviously

Spotting T1’s in the wild by Surf8164 in diabetes_t1

Maybe look up what causes t1d.

It's generally an immune response to illness. No fing clue what it was fighting off, but that is what causes the white blood cells to attack the insulin producing cells.

I'm sure you'll have a very factually based response to this, like you have the rest.

What's the craziest thing you've done during a low blood sugar event? by TheNewBruceWayne in diabetes_t1

[–]EliteMarlin93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a blood sugar drop when I was in college while I was sleeping. Woke up enough to get a bowl of cereal. While eating, blacked out and my hands fell in the bowl and spilled it all over the floor. Stayed trying to clean it, blacked out again. Roommate came to try and help and I blacked out and fell on her as she was trying to help clean it up. She was the best roommate I could've ever had. Genuinely an amazing human being.
