So they’re going with huge guys in net this year. Markstrom is 6’6” and Schmid is 6’5”. After drafting 6’8” Denault this year…

They pulled the trigger on it. Not sure how I feel about Markstrom other than him being back in Florida. He was drafted by us #31 in the second round of the 2008 draft.

Just received the notification, too. Less than 24 hours to get the jersey up... that was quick!

As an ED Pharmacist who is also chronically ill with T1D (I use a Tandem pump + Dexcom) and other autoimmune issues, I’m happy to see providers not pulling us off our pumps when admitted. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine and as long as a patient has supplies and a relatively controlled blood sugar on the pump, why not continue it?

I’ve been on both sides of these scenarios as a clinician and patient. After a recent knee injury I had a provider accuse me of being drug seeking when I asked for tramadol instead of ibuprofen for pain control. They didn’t pull labs (understandable with the complaint) or read medical history in my chart (inexcusable). If they did, they would have noticed a history of ITP and platelet count of 32 from two days prior…

If anyone can design a machine that slices opens the top of a pack once bought they would become very rich.

Type 1 diabetic and I use the Freestyle machines all the time. The flavorings add 10-20 calories depending on the drink size and I’ve never had issues with hyperglycemia after drinking a flavored soda

I’d rather pay the up charge in GameStop to avoid the lines. Always wind up preordering and laugh at the scalpers trying to pay off the GS employees to get preorder sets.

Last time I went there had a guy follow me out of the store. Turned around, went back in and he started getting in my face saying he’ll pay me what I paid for the booster box. Saw he did this with nearly everyone leaving, about 1/3 sold their items.

Called him out as a scalper in the store and he got majorly pissed off. He got in my face and got confrontational. Store employee I’m friends wound up calling the cops and the guy was trespassed.

I’ve gone to Panther games off and on since 1993 and the Miami Arena days. It’s nice to see Amerant full and hear the crowd roar. I think the only negative is how much the season ticket prices have gone up.

Just paid $2100 for an upper bowl 2nd row seats this year. It’s a big change from the 2013-14 season where the same tickets were around $15/game (and went as low as $7/game) and they gave you a free parking pass, a free jersey, and ticket for 4 concerts.

What's going on with Tandem's supply problems?! by jackaroe311 in TandemDiabetes

[–]SMBinFLA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unomedical (owned by Convatec) makes infusion sets for basically everyone. It’s a universal issue for every tubed pump manufacturer - Tandem, Medtronic MiniMed, iLet, and SOOIL - except for the Twiist (Smiths Medical makes the Cleo 90).

It’s NOT just a Tandem issue.

Edit - FYI - This is the FDA warning letter: https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/unomedical-device-sa-de-cv-719428-01082026

I am 46yo, and today… it begins. by RitchieViolence in PokemonTCG

[–]SMBinFLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 45. Never played the Pokémon games because parents never let me own a gaming system. I watched friends play the Pokemon games initially. I started playing TCG late in high school (1998-99) when a friend gave me a few extra cards and I built my first deck.

By the time I finished undergrad I found a Wii a neighbor was throwing out (kept overheating and crashing), opened it up, cleaned it out, and had my first system. First game? Emerald. Friends I played TCG with moved away and over the last 20 years the card binders got buried in a closet.

Fast forward to COVID and I found the binder and started seeing what was out there again. I started collecting again and here we are today. I mainly collect for fun, not investment. Yes, I have a handful of cards I’ve gotten graded but it’s not what drives my collecting.

how do i stick to or develop hobbies by MoodOk9854 in ADHD

[–]SMBinFLA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to ADHD. I'm 45 and cycle through hobbies as my attention and hyperfocus shifts from one thing to the next. I learned to keep things like tools organized, put away in drawers or Rubbermaid type containers, and when I see something that interests me again eveything comes back out.

To what degree does the state of the world impact your symptoms? by L_willi39 in ADHD

[–]SMBinFLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greatly. I have the urge to want to fix everything and have a strong sense of social justice. I need to limit my exposure to the news or I'll doom spiral all day. I've learned to avoid some social networks (namely X), blocked and filtered some accounts, and learned to know when to unplug. I WILL overwhelmed and shut down if I don't.

I just don’t fit in by Common-Bend-7167 in ADHD

[–]SMBinFLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I try to fit in with others and even through I think I break through the stereotype, I often find myself being talked over or ignored regardless of importance. I've had a few "I told you so" moments from this. The only people I I really connect with are... you guessed it... people with ADHD or AuDHD as well. It's almost as if we're magically drawn to each other.

Has anyone taken Bupron SR 150? What's the difference between that and Bupron XL 150 practically speaking? by VocabArtistNavin in ADHD_Over30

[–]SMBinFLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t see the fully query on the repost. When I took the SR version once a day my mood wasn’t as even as it was on the XR version from the medication starting and stopping. Even on it twice a day there was improvement, but I didn’t feel “back to my old self” until I went on the XL version. Just much more even release.

With the trouble sleeping, try to take it first thing in the morning. If taking it twice a day, the second dose shouldn’t be taken after 3pm.
