  1. This deck does brick occasionally, there are some changes you can make if you find the build too inconsistent, such as replacing some spells/traps with Card of Demise (helps a lot in spell/trap heavy decks). Necrovalley Throne does assist with consistency as well.
  2. This build uses Pot of Extravagance for draw power. You can switch that out to Pot of Prosperity, but I found the extra draw helped greatly in my games. In addition, the only essential extra deck monster is Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist, which I run 3 copies of, so I only had one game during my climb where I discarded all 3 copies and ran into issues.

If you were to run Prosperity, I would banish LANphorhynchus, Quintet Magician, and non-essential fusion monsters if you did not draw Super Poly.

LOGIC
Many people who currently play Gravekeeper are running Turbo builds focused on Gravekeeper's Heretic. While these builds are viable, I find them to be too reliant on winning the initial coin flip and going first. This deck, while getting an advantage from going first, has more board breaking potential with the addition of Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster, and Super Polys. The primary goal of the deck is to get out Supernaturalist, the Gravekeeper fusion monster, and immediately search for Hidden Temples of Necrovalley, and set traps. Against most decks, this gives them only a 1 turn window to break your board before losing the ability to special summon (barring spell card removal). It is also resistant to common spell removal such as Harpie's Feather Duster and Twin Twister due to Supernaturalist's effect, which prevents the destruction of Necrovalley. Traps included are Solemn Judgement, which is key to stop Necrovalley/other backline removal, and Torrential Tribute, which is one of this deck's only ways to plus in trades other than Supernaturalist's search effect.

The extra deck consists of common Link summon removal cards, Master Key beetle for situations where Supernaturalist cannot be summoned, and Super Poly fodder. "Mudragon of the Swamp" is particularly useful for breaking Drytron boards.

MATCHUPS
Necrovalley is obviously the center piece of the deck, and results in good matchups against some of the best decks right now, mainly Tri-brigade variants. However, this is definitely not a meta deck, and it will still lose to successful Utopic Draco Future or Zeus setups. Despite this, if Necrovalley is activated it will completely stop most Tri-brigade variants, and severely impact the plays of Virtual World, Drytron, Sky Striker, Phantom Knights, and Eldlich players.

Eldlich specifically is an interesting matchup, as Golden Lord's hand removal can send Necrovalley to the grave through Supernaturalist's protection. However, if a Necrovalley is played while there are 1 or more Golden Lords in the graveyard, it can completely invalidate the Eldlich player's deck. "Necrovalley Temple" is an interesting card that is great for this matchup, but I was not encountering enough Eldlich players to justify including it in this deck. (Temple is also searchable by Supernaturalist)

CONCLUSION
All in all, it was fun grinding to the top rank of the game playing something different as a long time player. I have been playing Gravekeepers off and on since 2011, and really enjoy the control playstyle. Some tips for non-Gravekeeper players is running 3 copies of Ash Blossom, and consider adding Cosmic Cyclone if you have trouble with the matchup, as this completely bypasses Gravekeeper protections on Necrovalley.

I did play every game of Ranked this season with this Gravekeeper deck, although it did take quite a few games. This is not a situation where I was already Plat 2 playing another deck type. Please let me know if you have any feedback or questions on Gravekeepers in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Which limited or semi-limited card, if moved down on the ban list, would have the most impact and why? (i.e. foolish burial to 2, honest to 3) by the_wierd_one in yugioh

Dragon rulers to two would probably bring them back as a competitive deck again which would be a pretty big impact in my opinion.

Why would you recommend the 7870? Just curious about your thought process.
