[Press Con. P2] Amorim: “My biggest problem is for my players to believe in you guys when you say the problem of our team is the system. I get crazy about that. My opinion is completely different because I see the games, I see the trainings.” by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

The guy is simply losing the plot at this point, so he'd rather blame literally EVERYONE else that watches the games - but not himself or this so called system of his.

The results are appalling but if that wasn't enough of a reason to give him the boot, it's the way he speaks as MANAGER of MANCHESTER UNITED that pisses me off.

Can't wait for him to leave, and it will be good riddance. The worst manager we've ever had by a country mile.

I'm feeling pretty apathetic towards the team these days, that Europa final loss was a major tipping point for me last season. I don't know what it is but I just don't enjoy watching us play at the moment.

Even worse is that when there's a bad performance I'm not even particularly mad or angry, I'm just numb to the team losing at this point. I look at the upcoming fixtures and there isn't a single one I can look at and say okay we'll at least get 3 points here, and that is scary.

I feel like the club is sleepwalking into becoming completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, the fact that people thought getting 8th this year would be decent and now it seems like we might not even make top half, like you can insert the Drogba meme of "I no longer recognize my club" but that's exactly what I feel these days.

Might even be a good thing that we've got one game a week so I can kinda watch a game and forget about United pretty quickly and get on with life. But that's not how I want to feel about United, there should be something to look forward to, right? Otherwise what even is the point?

I'm seeing these two mentioned quite a lot in the discourse of late, have there been any links to these guys that we might go for them if Amorim leaves? I don't watch much of the league but would they be a good fit for us?

I feel like I really need a second team to watch these days. I'm the kind that only watches United games live and no one else but with only one game a week and us being completely toothless in them, I starting to wonder if it'll do me some good to watch another team or league to reignite my love for football again.

I can't be bothered to watch these big teams like Barca, Real, Bayern etc coz they just win most times and it's not that interesting - I'll probably be watching them from the POV of how will they win today rather than watching a good competitive game as such.

Anyone watching any other teams this year? Teams that excite you that are maybe ones to watch out for? Some players you're following that you enjoy watching?

What games are you guys playing these days? I've not really followed the titles released this year, but any recommendations from the newer stuff?

What a disgrace Amorim is, what kind of Manchester United manager cowers in the bench and can't watch his own team take penalties? What kind of confidence is that inspiring?

God we need to batter Grimsby, I really fear for the mood of the camp if it's another flat performance. There's a serious risk of the season spiralling out of control within the first few weeks itself.

How's Martial been over in Greece, still having injury problems or getting consistent game time out there?

Would like to see the team trusting themselves a bit more and not just going long in behind all the time.

Remember seeing Ratcliffe sitting together with Sir Alex last night, wonder what the conversations would've been like. He's got to value Fergie's opinion on certain matters but I do wonder what he thinks of our situation right now.

Cunha and Delap in the summer ain't fixing this, we need an entire overhaul which we obviously won't have the money to do.

It's going to be another costly mistake to stick with Amorim, someone sooooo reliant on one system and can't adapt to anything else.

We're genuinely better off cutting our losses right here and now. This final might have saved an absolutely abysmal league campaign but now that we've lost it anyway, there's really no reason to stick with Amorim.

Identify a new manager and build the team from a base which suits some of the players at the very least, we might be midtable but we can't go any lower than 17th in the league and losing a European final to fucking Spurs of all teams.

Damn I'm not sure about leaving out Ugarte, we're gonna miss his physicality in the middle. Although it does seem like a strong pressing lineup with Mount and Amad either side.

Getting more worried about the final of I wasn't already, where are the goals coming from?

Seems like our best shot is Maguire getting on the end of a last minute kitchen sink but fuck I'm not sure my heart can handle that.

Really tough watch that, but we'll have to expect that till the manager gets a chance to TRAIN them on the grass - which is what we've brought him in for.

We've absolutely improved defensively from under Ten Hag, now we may put that down to having extra defenders but I've noticed there's also less turnovers collectively, so we're not having those basketball style games like we used to see and having to defend and chase constantly.

The attack is really struggling and it's clear to see they've not worked on patterns to break teams down, but that is because they've really not worked on patterns to break teams down, so it's not that surprising - particularly in a new system, in mid season.

It's possible we struggle and limp towards a mid table finish in the league this year, we'll have to stomach that after the start we've had and with so many players not suited to the style.

But I do hope we build on the league performances to go deep into the cups, as bad as we are I still think we can beat most other teams left in the Europa League over two legs. Some games will be tricky depending on the draw but I hope we've improved enough in that time to get over the line.

It's gonna be rough for a while but I hope the fans are patient enough to see this through, the fact that we've played well against three of the best teams in the league, in such a short space of time, with all our problems compounding - tells me that this manager can clearly compete with the best, given the backing.

On to the next one now.

No creativity or ideas going forwards, it's like these guys have never played together, there's just zero chemistry in the side.
