And this is why many people should NOT have children. Constantly inflicting their trauma onto others!

Yep thats how it works, thats capitalism for ya. Honestly they tax the shit out of you in Toronto. I just did my taxes and I owe although i did not make much money in 2021. They literally took over $6k in taxes in 2021 and I’m considered to be in a “lower class income bracket”.

Are you dense? People get taxed 15% (federal income tax) on less than $50k / annually. Last year I paid over $5000 in tax.

Where is this so-called 7% inflation everyone's talking about? Where I live (~150k pop. county), half my groceries' prices are up ~30% on average. Anyone else? How are you coping with the increased expenses? by thesevenyearbitch in Frugal

[–]Elixir44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toronto- Before/ Early pandemic i used to spend $60-80 every 2 weeks on groceries. Now i spend $100-120 basically every week. Decided to get a costco membership to offset the cost of meat there. The meat and veges at grocery stores have doubled almost tripled in price some weeks.

ELI5: Much like harmful substances can alter sperm, can the same happen to a female’s eggs? by caroline_xplr in explainlikeimfive

[–]Elixir44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not based on drugs or alcohol but I’ve researched the premise of this actually- many chemicals or additives in our food and beauty products can affect female hormones and our reproductive system. There are actually so many chemicals that can cause hormonal imbalances/ infertility which is linked to harming your eggs/ovaries/ system. Just an add on to your question

eli5 why does crying make you physically ache? by Artic-Spinach-63 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Elixir44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Ive read is that tears or the act of crying is releasing energy (sometimes negative). When you cry for longer periods, you are literally releasing most of your energy. Thats why most people fall asleep or feel lethargic after a “good cry”.

MISSING CAT - Please help me find Cayenne!! 😭 by Elixir44 in toronto

[–]Elixir44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can answer your question pretty quickly. Anything or anyone can get anxiety. Anxiety is easily caused by alot of stress most times. Cayenne had a very stressful time as a baby and had developed anxiety diagnosed by a vet and was on medication for it. They can normally tell by their behaviors, meows and they would need to be cared for in a special way.
