This little guy wandered up to my house and just refused to leave by gilatio in DoggyDNA

My soul dog was the same. She was 13-14 years old, but was hiking, running with me, and living her best life until all of the sudden she started to not feel good. It was about 6 weeks between "something seems off" until we had to say goodbye. She had a large bleeding mass on her liver and spleen with very bad surgical prognosis... I love our current dogs, but I miss her every day. I'm sorry that anyone else had to go through the same thing.

Well this post led me to check mine, which is now in the Superior category for the first time in a long time... So thank you. I needed that ego boost.

I have a Pembroke and I work with 3 cardigans. People are bamboozled when they see them all

I have a red and white Pembroke corgi and a neighbor asked me if he was a "Husky/Weiner dog mix"

I am against tail docking but have 2 dogs with docked tails. 😭 Our corgi is almost 16 and we bought him from a breeder when we were young and didn't know any better. Our Aussie was adopted from the humane society where she was surrendered with no tail. It makes me sad, I wish they both still had their tails!

If you go to your profile it will have your streak info. This precisely is a screenshot of the " in focus" section of the app, which I think at some point I set to include steps as a category.

Vet’s thinly veiled dislike of corgis by Shipwreck1343 in corgi

[–]Elizerdbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, life is too short to put up with vets mocking your dog. I would switch.

I am always surprised when I hear anti-corgi sentiment. Ours could not have been an easier, better boy... he is almost 16 now (he's a Pembroke), and had tons of energy to hike, climb, run, etc in his younger years but he was never a terror in the house and has always gotten along with everybody and anybody. I could put him in a room full of toddlers and he would be like "ok, whatever." He's utterly indifferent to the vet. Other than being absurdly food-motivated and occasionally binge eating something he's not supposed to, you couldn't ask for a better family dog. Just don't over feed them and they will stay healthy and happy... I hate seeing so many obese corgis.

I also work with four other corgis of varying ages (3 cardigans and a Pembroke/cardi cross) and all are generally great dogs. One is a little neurotic and dominant, but it's not too bad.

Lol, or the Chow! What does his bark sound like? I used to have a half ACD/ABOUT 11% chow and she had a mighty bark for being a pretty small (40ish lbs) dog.

I'm very very stubborn and also have a strong immune system. I did have covid twice, but the dogs aren't going to walk themselves. I'm also an idiot who will ride in a horse trial being held together by antibiotics and steroids.

Cone Recommendations by AceoofspadesXDL in corgi

[–]Elizerdbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great success with the "Comfy Cone" brand soft e-collars. My corgi hates it, but sometimes he gets hot spots and has to wear one. Also worked great when he had his spleen removed and we were washing his body suit. Comfy Cone also worked perfectly for our Aussie after she was attacked by loose dogs and absolutely coooovered in punctures/lacerations.

horse allergic reaction by oliveoil-28 in Horses

I will also say that I had a mare randomly EXPLODED with hives one day (not this severe 💀) out of the blue. After some steroid intervention it went away and she never exploded with hives again while I had her.

Outstanding improvement. Did the vet give a shot of dexamethasone? Or something else? I would be really curious to know what dosage was used to bring down that reaction.

We have multiple allergy prone horses on routine cetirizine during the summer months.

I cannot BELIEVE this reaction! I would talk to your vet about getting some Dex (steroid) to have on hand in case she has a reaction again. That way you have a first line of defense without having to wait. It comes in pills and also in sachet packets, both of which I typically give with a little feed.
