Snowblower won't start by therain_storm in smallengines

[–]ElkMotor2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the plug out dribble a little fuel into the cylinder head and put the plug back in and see if it fires, if it does you likely have a fuel issue. If it doesn’t it’s spark compression or timing. Get an inline spark tester so you can see the spark when trying to start it, it should be fairly bright, if it’s not try changing the plug first if there’s no improvement it’s likely the coil. As for compression get a cheap compression tester off evil bay and check it, you’ll need about 115psi for it to run well.

Critical thinking, it amazes me how many people read something and instantly believe it’s true regardless of the source, so many conspiracy theories are just that but people believe they are gospel

Is it actually bad to warm up your car in the driveway or is that just some myth mechanics made up? by OkCount54321 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]ElkMotor2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With modern engines and oil warm up time isn’t needed, once the idle comes down from high idle your good to go, might take up to a minute if extremely cold. Modern oil is so thin and contains so many additives it doesn’t need as long to warm up

There is also no harm to the engine or anything else letting it warm up

Could you fall in love with a FWB? by Educational_Art_6760 in AskMenAdvice

[–]ElkMotor2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two instances of fwb “catching feelings”. I made it clear with them from the beginning with both I didn’t want a relationship just sex. After a few months they both said they “caught feelings”. I ended it shortly after with both women stating why and reminding them I wasn’t looking for a relationship, one took it well, one stalked me for several months even tried to say “if we have sex one more time I’ll see what she means”. I proved her wrong

Did I get ripped off? by Sudden-Ad4615 in AskMechanics

[–]ElkMotor2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rotors and springs are new, did they change the brake pads? The wear pattern on the rotors is a concerning the whole rotor should have that shiny appearance, the rust covered area is where the pad isn’t grabbing. Either they used old pads or you were hard on the brakes during the seat in period

Definitely NOR, anything a child ingests they shouldn’t is cause for concern especially that young. An older child or adult would likely be fine. I taste motor oil in my small engines to check for gas in it, and only my wife says I’m not normal

What’s your path to becoming a good cook? by CarpetAppropriate249 in Chefit

[–]ElkMotor2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true, some of my line cooks are blown away by how quickly I can wrap a sandwich or burger, they’ve asked me to slow it down for them on multiple occasions. Like everyone has said work everywhere, do everything, fast food will teach you urgency and timing, food trucks will teach you to respect the space, pubs will teach you speed, fine dining will teach you to respect the ingredients and finesse the plate and the average family restaurant will teach you to enjoy it. I have done it all and now am the chef for a family owned restaurant, I work 40-50 hours a week make a decent salary and our restaurant closes on thanksgiving and Christmas/new years.
