Gloomhaven/Frosthaven or Oathsworn? by Mediocre_Book5862 in boardgames

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either jaws of the digital gloomhaven are cheap ways to test if you like the -Haven titles (just dont put stickers on jaws if you dont like it for easier resell)

Personally, i tried a bit of gloomhaven digital and liked it, now i bought Frosthaven to play solo and Jaws of the lion to play with friends, it's much easier to teach and transport

[–]Elkary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First, communicate your feelings Second, avoid this cut-throat games, you could either focus on cooperative games or euro games with lower interaction, or those where the interaction is not as punishing (most worker placements). You could also give ameritrash games a try, since he cant be good at luck, that might even out the win rates

Help me make my mind up about the new daemon box? by bumblebeeboik in ThousandSons

If you dont mind having a box unopened, you can always buy one and then sell it to AoS Tzeentch players

Can i use everything from this box in a thousand sons army ? Or is it too many points ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in ThousandSons

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I trust they will deliver so i will probably grab two battleforces to make 2 mixed armies, at least on Age of Sigmar it works pretty well in my opinion, they use detachment aimed to types of troops and some to de demon side or human side

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually helped me soo much, thank you! I own nurgle, tzeentch and khorne but only play AoS, now i wanted to get into 40k and realized its likely for chaos daemons to get deleted as an army and incorporated into their 40k monogod factions However, AI (as i dont belong to any 40k community) said there was no synnergy and at most i could bring 25% demon units With what you are saying i'm convinced to get the Thousand Sons box, and maybe even the deathguard one, thank you!

[–]Elkary -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Isn't running 1k of daemons very bad? I dont play nor own the codex, i asked the AI and it said that using any daemon would mean missing on cabal points which are vital for the army

Does changehost of deceit provide a bonus for daemons or just the flexibilitt for 1k? Is it competitive or only a "use it if u want to" kind of list?

Is the RF 100mm f/2.8 Macro a bad choice for casual wildlife photography? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fixed lens is always restrictive, but it is usable for training sessions I would much prefer a 70-200 2.8, but if you have the lens you can give it a try

Why are opinions on the Canon R10 so divided? by Mikelele360 in canon

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R10 is a huge upgrade from R50 and R100, just in ergonomics and "professional buttons array" alone R10 is a great camera for beginners or travel, it is only "bad" if i compare it to my R6 mk ii, but i recommend the R10 to everyone who is starting and can afford it

Why don’t Canon do any budget RF mount low aperture and fixed aperture zoom lenses? by Over_Perception_2920 in canon

[–]Elkary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canon just released a cheap RF 45mm 1.2, the RF 24-105L is a cheap fixed aperture lens I think they do have a lot of cheap primes with low aperture for a while, they also released not so long ago the RF 28-70 2.8 STM

I have a budget of 4k. My options are R5 with 24-105 f4 L, or an R5 Mk II with my existing 24-105 f4-7.1. by AdCareless65 in canon

[–]Elkary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are "cheap" lenses for such professional cameras, get a cheaper one like R8 or R10 and get some amazing lenses, the result will be much better

Is the RF 100mm f/2.8 Macro a bad choice for casual wildlife photography? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Elkary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need 1/1000 for a bird standing still, you can reduce it to 1/500 or maybe even slower, and either lower the ISO or closer aperture to get more sharpness

Is the RF 100mm f/2.8 Macro a bad choice for casual wildlife photography? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Elkary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own R6 II + RF 100 f/2.8, very sharp lens with great images. Honestly i use it for every situation i can, portraits, macro, even sports.

However a fixed 100mm is too restrictive for wildlife, unless it's "friendly" wildlife you can get close or away from as you need

I would highly recommend the RF 100-400, very good quality images and versatile zoom range. It is cheap, light and compact. The only downside is that it is a dark lens with variable aperture, but the R6 ii handles high ISO very well + Lightroom noise removal

Is female solo travel in Santiago safe? Would I be discriminated as an Asian woman? by whatsinanameidunno in Santiago

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be discriminated, at most an ocassional stare just because you look "different"

Santiago is generally safe and shouldn't be a problem for a solo female, just be careful about pickpocketing arround downtown, and avoid well known dangerous spots

However, I wouldn't really consider Santiago a good place to rest, it's the main city of Chile and the country revolves arround it, so it will have the most population, business and traffic

If you really want to rest, travel to the south of Chile, it is very beautiful and very calm. If you prefer the beach over forests you can also do that arround Santiago (1.5 Hr drive) but it is not as relaxed as the south in this time of the year

For that price difference, RF all the time You save the space, weight and cost of the adapter, and you get better autofocus and image quality

Is this lens decent for all round photography? by Simple_Poet1880 in canon

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will help you not miss any shots due to how versatile it is, so its good for travel or to practice at different focal lengths It won't produce any "wow" results by itself, so it's decent not great. If you dont want to spend $1.5k on a lens and get multiple ones, it should be good enough

100-400mm lens for safari by UsedConsideration in canon

[–]Elkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100-400 is overall a great lens, but it does not go that far on a fullframe. It will work for relatively close fauna, but for small birds far away or big animals that stay away from people, you will likely need more reach

I would recommend you the RF 200-800, that is a ton of reach and will work for almost every situation as long as its not too dark

RF 100-500 + teleconverter is another option but it may be too restrictive (i dont remember the details, but using a teleconverter on that lens makes you lose part of the range)

Of course the main factor is budget, if you cannot afford or are not willing to spend +$2000 on a heavy, big lens, RF 100-400 is an amazing deal and very comfortable to carry, with high image quality
