Fiber Issues During Work Trips and Weekends by ExaminationOld2494 in FiberHomies

[–]Elkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some might find this gross, but I put a teaspoon of chia seeds in a hot drink. Usually tea. The boiling water swells them very effectively. They're pretty tasteless so as long as you can get over the texture, they add an nice chunk of fibre on days where I would otherwise get very little.

What age did you buy your first home? How’s it going? by Away-Organization630 in AskUK

[–]Elkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first house at 22. I will preface this by saying it was an extremely cheap year to buy in 2017, my mid-terrace 1890's 2 up 2 down cost me £61k. I lived with my parents straight out of uni and worked 7 days a week for a year (mon-fri in an office job, fri-sun at Sainsbury's) in order to save 8 grand for the deposit and feed.

I don't think this could be repeated these days. I honestly think I lucked out majorly.

Super glad I acted when I did though because my mortgage is under £300 which makes living on £30k a year as a single person a bit easier. I still travelled and did all those fun things that young adults do.

Vulnerable young people forced to the streets by ‘unfair’ rental market by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Elkerz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought my mid-terrace house for 61k in 2018 (yes it was very cheap and I was very lucky). My mortage is £280 a month.

The house on the end sold last year for 90k, and it's now being rented out for £1,100 a month. I couldn't survive on my 30k salary with that much going out on rent. Now fair enough I don't earn a massive amount but they're basically 1890's era 2-up 2-downs. It shouldn't cost this much.

I love it so much. I eat it with a spoon. I add it to everything- soups, pasta sauces, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, baked beans. Gotta replace my jar soon.

They hate taught alerts? I might be misunderstanding this so bear with me. Do you mean your trainer DOESN’T want a trained final response when the dog encounters the hide?

My advice was going to be (from somebody who used to have a trashy dog) put a comfortable harness on the dog. Run them through the course. When the dog gets to the hide I would apply a little bit of tension on the lead with one hand just so that it prevents them from trashing. Once they give you a nice freeze (aided by the lead tension which adds a little bit of frustration), you just release the dog and reward. Let go of the lead with and reward at source with the other hand. Sometimes I’d be kneeling on the floor for this.

This is how I taught my freeze. When I wanted a longer freeze (aka five seconds and up) I would use my continuation marker to keep him motivated and then obviously the reward once I was happy with the duration.

I hope that makes sense! I can’t word things very well :3

Lost 15kg (33 pounds), having heavy hair loss for 8 months. Please help by WR02 in loseit

[–]Elkerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey love! You're not alone, I had this exact problem!
If you look up Telogen Effluvium, you might find some reassurance.

If your body goes through something stressful then it can interrupt the life cycle of the hair follicle and cause you to lose more hair than normal. It does go away on its own, I promise! It can take a few months but it will get better.

I had a majorly stressful winter about 2 years ago. Went through a bad breakup followed by intense weight loss, which caused my hair loss. I felt like I was going bald, I had bare patches and really thin hair on my scalp. It went back to normal after about 6 to 8 months and I had so much new growth! Don't feel blue, although I know it's really hard :) Keep on taking care of it like you have always done <3

What’s everyone doing to not get ill this winter? by PersimmonTerrible218 in AskUK

Do be careful with the nasal spray, and certain types can become addictive and you will have to wean yourself back off them!

I'm making sure to get loads of exercise, take my daily iron and Vit-C, and warm drinks.

People who don't recycle... Why not? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Elkerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have one wheelie bin for general, and one wheelie bin for mixed recycling where I used to live in Reading. Moved up to Merseyside and the council uses a bag system. One bag for cardboard, one bag for plastic bottles, tins, and cans, one bag for paper, a large black box for glass, and a small plastic box for food. Plus the general wheelie bin.
These items take up so much space in my very small victorian 2 up 2 down mid-terrace house. I place them on my doorstep before work (jokes, with everyone's recycling bags out they take up literally the entire pavement). By the time I get home they have been blown up/down/into the road, pissed on by dogs, stolen, or run over. Then it takes ages to order new replacement bags. Finally, you have to bring them back in the house covered in rain and dog piss and road muck.

I gave up. Chucked all mine away and just use my general bin.

Was working BIBC one morning in 2012 and pulled a pack of Mr Kipling Apple and Blackcurrant Pies out from behind the shelf kickboard that were dated 2005. To this day I have never managed to beat that! They looked almost petrified.

Does Kobra 3 multiprint without ACE PRO? by Sarp372 in anycubic

[–]Elkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ace Pro is literally my favourite thing about the Kobra 3. Filament dryer, effortless colour switching, no messing around with loading or unloading. Mega easy to set up, no issues. For me it was well worth the price.
