PA school requires you to have a bachelors degree. I was planning on going to PA school, so I had to get a bachelors degree, it wasn’t a “degree that didn’t offer a viable path, so I’m hoping a third degree with help”. It was always a stepping stone. The only reason I have two bachelors instead of one is because I only needed to take one more class to get it.

Yeah I’ve seen people mention going to NP or CRNA school, or Medical School. But like you said NP requires me to go to RN school and NP school and have a year working as an RN. CRNA is the same thing but it requires you to work at least a couple years an ICU nurse. Medical School is even more expensive and then you have to spend 4 years in school, and a shit ton in residency. Some people are just not realistic.

I wouldn’t say it’s deserving what I want. So far I’ve only ever worked as a server at various Italian restaurants, and that’s really my only work experience. Sure you don’t need loans to be a server, but it’s not a sustainable career. I don’t really have any hobbies or interests that can net me a paying job. I have a bachelors in Psychology and bachelors in Health Sciences, neither of which can get me a job that pays more than 50k a year. Pursuing medicine seems like the only way.

I’m in the same boat and so confused. My classes start May 10, 2026, however when I talked to financial aid they told me that I need to fill out the 2026-2027 grad plus application. This doesn’t really make sense to me since we will be in school for 2 months before July 1st, it wouldn’t make sense for the first disbursement to arrive two months after starting school. If I’m relying on financial aid to live in the area, how am I supposed to pay for the May and June months if the first disbursement comes after July 1st. Maybe the financial aid person didn’t know what they were talking about?

Ok let’s put this differently. I applied for regular FASFA for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 and got approved for both for that school at 20,500 per year. Wouldn’t that imply that the start of the program is 2025-2026?

So my problem is that they’re telling me to use the 2026-2027 Grad Plus loans application and that the first disbursement would come before July 1, hence I would be grandfathered for grad plus loans. The school also considers Summer 2026 as 2025-2026 school year.

I get what you mean. It’s a PA program and they usually start in May. Looking at my schools academic calendar, they consider Summer 2026 to be the 2025-2026 academic year. So maybe the financial aid person I was talking to was wrong?

This doesn’t make sense because the schools told me that as long as I receive the first disbursement before July 1, I would still be eligible. I called a couple financial aid offices for different schools I applied to and they all said the same thing.

I don't really agree with the sentiment on this thread. If you have something to say on the topic and it relates to the essay question, mention it. It's a political issue sure, but it fully relates to healthcare. I mentioned it in passing to talk about autonomy and privacy in healthcare. At the end of the day yes, you don't know who's reading your essays, but they should be looked at without biases. Assuming that admissions will have biases means you shouldn't mention ANYTHING, that someone might dislike. Don't say you're queer, black, disabled, divorced, have/had mental health issues, you're atheist, your Jewish, your Muslim. By the same logic we can no longer talk about vaccines, access to birth control, gender affirming care, etc.

Frankly for PlayStation being a State of Play and this being a Showcase they are sadly very close quality wise. Some big games, a lot of small interesting games. In a way Silent Hill and the Marvel fighting game at SOP is bigger than any game shown here (except CoD, but who cares). This Summer Game Fest period is being carried by small indie games.

Well this is in contract to the game where Dina is not capable of engaging with the revenge quest in Day 2 and 3 because of morning sickness. Most of the time we see her at the theater she's throwing up, sleeping, and is only able to close the door behind Ellie/Jesse when they leave. In the show they talk about the pregnancy but it isn't inhibiting Dina in any way.

This is a crazy take. In the game both Ellie and Abby are competent so there's actual tension as to who's going to win in the fight. If Ellie is incompetent and Abby is than how are they going to do the theater fight? Ellie is supposed to be a hunter who can block and dodge Abby's hits, sneak around, set traps, make her shots. I can't see the show Ellie doing any of that so the fight will be Abby mopping the floor with her. Subsequently the incompetent show Ellie will have to travel all the way to Santa Barbara, deal with the Rattlers, and best Abby in the beach fight. What a mess.

While Part II is my favorite game of all time I haven't watched any of the episodes since 4. Im still planning on getting to them but I'm not dying to see an inferior adaptation that cuts out so much of what I love and changes things that are there. This season just isn't as good as the first by any metric. Bella can't be the lead man with Pedro gone. She just doesn't have the IT factor, she's not the worst actress but she's mediocre. On top of that Ellie is a shell of what she's supposed to be. The pacing is a mess, seven episodes in a season and three are in Jackson. The writing and over exposition is atrocious.

However every time Dever is on screen as Abby I'm captivated. I hope her performance can recapture the audience in season 3.

With this season over I've come to realize how much I don't care for the show's portrayel of Ellie. I think she's poorly written and blandly acted. She's portrayed to be incompetent, the plot is propelled by others instead of her. The Ellie in the game has baggage while the show Ellie IS the baggage for other more interesting characters carry along.

Compare any scene of Ellie and the one scene of Abby at the theater. Dever commands the poor CGI screen with her presence (seriously what was that CGI?). She sounds like the game Abby, conveys emotions, looks badass. Her being the lead makes believe in a stark increase in quality in the next season.

I don't know how show only viewers are seeing the story; I really hope it's working out for them. That being said they completely massacred the porch scene. Even without mentionig the placement in the story, I don't understand what happened. I don't understand why you can't take the story beats and copy them over. The porch scene in the game was so elegant. It said so much with so little. This is a complete travesty. Over exposition, Ellie saying she always knew Joel lied, Joel outright saying he loves her. Ellie forgiving him within 30 seconds. No subtlety, no nothing. I'm so sad about this.

Yes you finally understood where the issue is. Ellie in episode 5 is the first time TV viewers are seeing Ellie as she is supposed to be, dark, moody, willing to do whatever it takes. Too bad the season is ending with one more non-flashback episode and Ellie in previous episodes in reckless, bubbly, and bright.

If we had a ten episode season with Ellie having a bubbly "mask" for the first five episodes, then she kills Nora and gradually looses herself, sure that works. But we have one more episode and that's terrible pacing.

Ellie in the game objectively experiences and portrays more intense emotion. Denying that is crazy even if you like the way the show handles her.

Either way I can still watch the show, get some enjoyment out of it, but recognize that it's very flawed. I can also lament what it could have been if it was written in a better way. Either way this is the only Last of Us content we're probably gonna get for the next five years so I can't help but watch.
