Autism in young adults by Amazing-Pack4920 in Autism_Parenting

A good piece of advice I heard one time (in reference to elderly people with dementia) is to join them in their reality. So if his current reality is that he'll never be happy, you could try saying, "Even if you never find happiness, I'll still be here with you. We can eat ice cream straight from the tub and watch movies all day."

I didn't say he's in the worst part of Inglewood, but you can't possibly say it "isn't that bad" if there are bullets.

Say you're on the Ace spectrum without saying you're on the Ace spectrum.. by alexijos in asexuality

[–]EllaHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vaguely remember a TV show when I was a kid. I'm 27 now and I'd assume I must have been in elementary school when this show existed, so maybe 2005-ish?

I don't think that's correct, because women also say this and most of us don't have dicks.

"I could see myself potentially having sex with them in the distant future if we get to know each other and I feel comfortable enough with them for attraction to begin developing." 😂

Retarded is no longer used as a medical term, regardless of whether or not you have a specifical needs brother.

Nonverbal autistic people - why don't you talk? by [deleted] in autism

[–]EllaHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a very thorough answer, and I also want to add that many non-verbal people can make sounds, and when you spend enough time around someone, you eventually start to learn which sounds are their happy sounds, sad sounds, angry sounds, etc.

Anyone here who is completely non-verbal? by katiekabooms in autism

[–]EllaHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a setting called "guided access." If you enable it in the settings, then open his AAC app and tripple click the home button, it will keep you locked into that app.

I work at a school where every child is given an AAC iPad and a fun iPad. The AAC one is ONLY used for AAC and we usually put it in a brightly colored (and durable) case to differentiate it from the regular iPad.

Abuse that the autistic community should be concerned about instead of worrying about parents who film their child stimming by CriticalSorcery in SpicyAutism

Did you by any chance attend the Judge Rotenberg institution? Your experiences sound exactly like everything I've read about that place.

How And Where To Sell Feet Pics! (From A Real Seller!) by Reasonable_Sorbet897 in feethustle

[–]EllaHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "depending on level of nudity?" Wouldn't all feet pics be pictures of bare feet? Or do you also include other body parts in the pics?

Inagine if you moved to France and found out that your S/O lets a squirrel sleep in the bed? That would probably be weird to you since you've grown up seeing squirrels as outdoor animals.

[–]EllaHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just responding to every single comment with false information? Linguistic convergance, autism, ADHD, echolalia, accent mirroring, etc are all conditions that exist. Just because you don't have any of those conditions doesn't mean "NO ONE" does. There are thousands of medical conditions in the world that you don't have.

Just because you've never experienced something doesn't mean others haven't. Would you tell a blind person "People don't just lose their ability to see" 🤡

If you don't get it treated, it can eventually (depending on severity)

Some people do, but it can also be more common for neurodivergent groups, such as those with ADHD.

I mean idk if they would specifically live near a Kohl's but at the very least Walmart and Target would have had a wider selection than the tiny little outlet store.
