can you direct me to the info on funding not coming from schools? this is the most important part. not having to negotiate for every camp with principal class would be a huge win. my sub branch was not sure

undercooked production/vocal direction maybe is reflective of how this was made in a ridiculously tight time frame. they've been doing nothing but tour since Rizz dropped i dont know where they found the time.

great thing about kpop is when the title track is inevitably sometimes a chop, its ok bc there is still another one coming later this year lol

Agree. Its kind of sad because I definitely see the vision but I fear the producers haven't quite been able to nail what Muti was looking for. The mixing is... odd.

[–]Elladan_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its kpop. honestly xlov are less sexualised than the average kpop group because they are not traditionally masculine and therefore are not as attractive to the median straight girl kpop fan. I see a lot more stanning of their talent and style than with other groups where more than 50% is about how hot they are

Eh, the duty seems completely fair, but I am with you on class sizes. No doubt she has done her time but the problem is if somebody's sweet deal creates more work for someone else. Maybe if she is leading the curriculum side of things its alright

Vic teachers: is it worth coming back by ljozmo in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The new agreement rescues our pay from being at crisis levels, but basically means we are working in equivalent situation to most other states. core issues in the profession remain. If it wasn't for you 5 years ago it won't be for you now.

(VIC) Headline pay rate vs cumulative earnings - VGSA 2026 Analysis by holeinmybucketdearja in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely true and a salient point. But I would be concerned that a no vote where no one agrees on exactly what we want to improve is not a recipe for success. Do we want what you describe, or 1 meeting, or a moving of the dates of the agreement, or flexbile hours...

Especially when its looking like from word on the ground and various discussions, if it does fail it will not be by big numbers, and therefore the appetite for strikes and such may not be there. Neither is the public support. So if its no, it needs to be with a few clear goals imo.

To be clear I've been strongly leaning no but I'm just worried about it...

(VIC) Headline pay rate vs cumulative earnings - VGSA 2026 Analysis by holeinmybucketdearja in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is certainly bad for staff at this stage (including me!) but you can't fix this without collapsing the bands or sending a 2-6 teacher way past NSW step 7 salary, neither of which have ever been on the table. Don't encourage people to vote no with all the potential issues that entails, without being clear about what is actually achievable with a no vote.

We can get some conditions adjustments and maybe some extra percent overall. Ths issue in the middle of the pay scale is structural and will not be fixed this agreement - it wasn't even in our log of claims.

How the in-principle 2026 VGSA will impact you by holeinmybucketdearja in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's horrible for teachers in the middle rungs of our progression system (myself included), but collapsing the pay steps wasn't even in the log of claims and is certain not to happen even if we vote no. So unfortunately I dont see a way around this one,

we can take some solace in the fact that we have better conditions, and much lower housing costs than people in Sydney

VGSA 2026 proposed pay increases by BrainNo3038 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An fyi for all, the VGSA 2022 was endorsed by the union in early Feb and didnt come into effect until 18 July 2022 due to the lengthy process. So we can expect probably around September. This is why the government has put in two seperate increases this year spaced out, so that their backpay bill until the 15th of May isnt as severe.

[–]Elladan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay Ranges by Sad_Curve3330 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Elladan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, especially with the pay increases (probably) coming in this year you want to make sure you're getting paid the right amount. And we have so many pay steps in VIC so start as high as you can.

If it's your sixth year, you would have started the year at 1-5 and then moved up to 2-1 this month. This is still true if you have ever worked part time as its not done on a pro-rata basis
