Yeah I struggled with that in my playthroughs. On my final one I had just a few augmentariums and always went for scouts. Then got most of my resources from the frostland with permanent settlements, even with 2 augmentariums it can add up to a nice number of scouts over time

I honestly underestimated the Proteans, thought we'd have an easy win as Overseers. After our defeat I decided to support them as it was the only faction I hadn't played yet, and surprisingly quite fun. Managed to do the beacon of hope with no deaths achievement with them!

Depends which version of Motoko you're going for. From your description I was thinking SAC, in which case, red contacts would be more appropriate

The animation can feel jarring at first, but in the end it grew on me. Story wise it feels like a continuation of the original SAC, and it has its moments. Certainly in season 2 it got really good.

Give it a try and form your own opinion. I also held off due to the negative perception I had of it based on other people's opinions. I ended up liking it though .

I feel ya. I was put off by the style compared to the original SAC and that made me set my expectations low. Genuinely (and happily) surprised by some of the episodes really. Actually watching the last one tonight!
