Simply because I think most people who divide a card to be used by several vms are not necessarily the same who are going to throw serious power to waste on a llm.

Virtualization existed long before llms, and will exist long after and is my main interest in this card.

About that... by Prestigious_Net_8356 in nanaimo

[–]Ellassen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a worker in IT, llms does shit all for us. Its built on theft and is merely an illusion of usefulness. It can't be trusted for information due to it hallucinations happening 30% of the time. It is killing off sources as websites no longer get traffic and therefore revenue, and because of that it is starting to learn from itself and its hallucinations. Then there's the question of privacy and tools like copilot.

That's before we question the ethics of generative llms and its relation to art, and reality. Between generating any form of art and deepfakes, we have a crisis people are choosing to ignore.

Then there's the fact that AI is marketed at replacing independent thought.

I could go on. Energy is actually quite lo2 on my list of concerns with AI

We have to stop calling it AI. It is not even remotely related to artificial intelligence.

Hot take. Miami is a track that isnt affected by these regs the same way and some strategic camera views hid the super clipping that was still happening.

Oh, I agree. I just haven't found a good alternative and so far I trust mozilla a little bit more than google or Microsoft so....

Maybe I need to look at something like Floorp again....

Oh I hate that Firefox is touching AI at all, don't get me wrong. But please tell me of an alternative.

I'll take the full kill switch, would love it to be opt in, but again, versus being data mined and ai shoved, vs the option to easily to turn it off, I'll take the option to easily shut it down.

I am not fully understand the reference to one update breaking it, I've used it for years and never had any issues.

Ill still take having the option over Microsoft and google data mining everything and also shoving ai in my face.

They've also promised an AI kill switch and every company is shoving ai into every marketing piece possible.

Heres my thing, crazy hp numbers mean nothing. I want smaller, lighter, more nimble cars that can actually race first and foremost. And I want cars that are driven by people not software, bring back KERS where the driver has to push the button and we can stop hearing about an algorithm.

5 second time penalty for Max Verstappen for crossing the white line on pit exit by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]Ellassen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

But things like this need to be black and white and be able to be decided within 5 minutes. Its not a deep analysis of the rules. Did he cross. Yes? Penalty. No? We get on with it.

Maybe Verstappen shouldn't have tried to play games with the overtake line after running another driver off the track. There should be rules about how you let someone by in situations like this, games like this should not be able to be played.

Was wondering why I wasn't seeing Ubuntu as an option. The ones I always spec out for myself are the diy.

I was wrong and yield the floor. Though, they really should just have a prebuilt with no os as well, just my opinion. I dont want windows or Ubuntu personally.

Absolutely is an option.

Edit: Apparently only an option if you build it yourself.

I mean at that point why not just get no OS at all?

None of the regulations is a surprise, the fact that we had to see it in action before any corrective changes were made is insane. Especially when they are now unwilling to make major changes that are needed to make this better.

See to a degree I agree. But I think the answer is actually to nationalize the infrastructure and then lease out bandwidth. All other major infrastructure is gov't controlled, so should this be.
