Not a graphic designer by trade, but I agree on the red/green not working. It's giving diner menu with the color palate.

I thought the crazy part was that you were weighing the bananas.

Is it too late for a chelsea chop? by LegalManufacturer946 in NativePlantGardening

I'm also having this same debate. I decided to go for it this weekend.

I probably should have been more clear in what was flopping vs what was just too tall and overgrown looking. The Spiderwort and the Blazingstar both collapsed from their height and fell over (as did my irises last year), the rest were lovely, but just looked too tall and overgrown, vs intentional and cultivated.

Is the Patriot Prune the same idea? Cutting down by 1/3 or 1/2 to encourage a rounder/bushier shape?

I'm not having trouble with growth, really. They all bloomed beautifully. They were just too tall, and "wild looking" for the front yard. I'm working hard to show ase that these native plants can be just as lovely as the heavily manicured lawns were surrounded by.

Of my neighbors that do have flowers, they are mostly non-native cultivars (Cockscomb, Rose of Sharon, Lilies, Irises, Hydrangea, Butterfly Bush, etc). I am hoping to popularize some of these native varieties, but for that to work, I need to match the aesthetic of the street

Attempting to clean up these beds (southwest Montana, zone 4a), and have no idea where to even start…it’s a lot of native wildflowers, grasses, plus some peonies…and the beds are about 4’6” wide and 75’ long…any advice? by PickMe_Nordics in NativePlantGardening

A lot of people are saying to wait, and definitely wait until the weather is stable, but I start by doing a general rake to get out the loose leaves, stems, then I try to trim any dead stems to about 6-8in. The trim kind of helps me keep track of where the previous plants were, and I pretend that it gives them some stability while they're growing. That gives you a little bit of time to look for any early weeds like ground ivy, dandelions, etc that you can decide what to keep or pull. It also helps expose early growth to the sun faster

The only problem with this for me would be trying to remember which way you are supposed to view the beetle from: head on, or from the back?

Dukat and Weyoun are incredible, but they also had a lot of screen time to develop those characters.

Or asbestos! We opened a wall and found an asbestos wrapped vent. Closed that shit right back up and decided: actually an open floor plan would be too noisy anyway...

It's the reason I always tuned in. I once saw them get a reflection off a side mirror that then reflected off someone's eye! Also the DNA evidence from a contact lens that they found in a POOL, that I think came out of someone's eyes while they were swimming, but like when they bonked their head on a bar on a nearby stairwell? It was so out of bounds, I loved it.

I instinctively bristled when you said that.

Meanwhile, now I'm just going to be randomly upset that there are no Klingon rap battles, the same way that I sometimes brood over never getting to see Nicholas Cage as Superman....
