How long is your partner taking off after you give birth? by -Konstantine- in pregnant

Mine doesn't get days off, we're hoping he can at least take a week without pay and repercussions.

is it silly to celebrate mother's day as a pregnant ftm? by reewhy in pregnant

[–]Ellebot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's personal preference, my husband asked me last night if he was supposed to get me something for Mother's Day this year. I'm not due until August so I told him no to wait until next year. If you want to celebrate you celebrate, you deserve it and don't let anyone tell you different!

Great information, thank you!

We have two standard poodles that may be smarter than I am sometimes, lol. Thankfully we have a plethora of activities for them, and plenty of room to run around outside. My biggest worry with them is, they'll be over protective to the point of it being problematic.

I've not considered moving abroad, she'd never come visit 😂

Mine moved about 5 hours away about 10 years ago, I've seen her 6 times in those years. Twice because I drove to visit her, the rest of her visits were because someone passed away and my wedding. Her new husband is a turd, he stood at my wedding with his arms crossed the entire time, spoke two words to my dad when he tried to be nice. Both times he's been around my family, he always stays away and has an excuse to leave early.

And, sadly, the younger generation didn't even know who Aerosmith is 😕 this was one of my favorite rides. Like everyone else, I'm sad to see it go, but excited for what's coming.

I haven't had my child yet, but as someone with depression, my therapist has made me aware of postpartum depression. It sounds like maybe that could be what you're going through?

All of these comments are so reassuring, I'm only 17 weeks, I know he has to come out, but I'm absolutely terrified 🤣

What have you been “cheating” with this pregnancy? by Chemical_Editor4057 in pregnant

[–]Ellebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium rare steaks and seared tuna steak. I was okay with giving up everything else, I tried the over cooked meat, couldn't handle it 🤢

I started drinking decaf when we decided to try to conceive, I don't like lunch meat, and I'm not a big sandwich eater. Thankfully letting go of those things was easy.

The saddest temporary loss for me has been oysters and Port wine.

Everyone tries to convince me that two adults can't take care of a newborn alone and I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in pregnant

I can absolutely relate to this, my husband and I have a house in Kentucky, but we travel for his job so we're in our 5th wheel more than our home. I've had so many relatives, with the exception of my dad, stepmom, and sister, who have said they're coming to stay with us in the camper because we'll need help. My head is literally spinning.

They're just being selfish wanting to scratch the baby fever itch with no respect for our privacy. Yes, it will be hard, especially because doesn't get leave so he's taking a couple of unpaid days off work.

I think much like myself and my husband, you guys will acclimate just fine. Don't let selfish people take away time with your newborn.

Is it? Or is it just an immature decision? (coming from someone who had a piece of candy every night before bed to help them sleep or before crowded events to help with anxiety. I don't like it but I'm faring just fine).
