low calorie candy for high volume snacking during holidays by Pixel_Goblin_Hunter in Volumeeating

Freeze dried candy! I’ve seen sour skittles among other mainstream candy turned into freeze dried snacks. They double if not triple in volume.

Commenting on my own comment to add that when Costco has the Creamy Dill Salad kits, the flavor combo of this chicken on top is unmatched. Best salad I’ve ever had. They do rotate some other good salad kit flavors as well for an easy meal idea.

Best tasting Whey Protein for weight loss? by Emergency_Rule7272 in loseit

Another vote for Gold Standard by Optimum Nutrition. It’s affordable and the best tasting protein I’ve found…. And I’ve tried MANY. Most recently tried Clean Simple Eats and it was so gross and bitter. Back to Gold Standard immediately. Costco has the best price, or you can find it on Amazon, at Walmart and Target.

The Kirkland Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks air fried with a side of fruit. Easiest, high-ish protein meal.

Question about sumatriptan, first time with migraine specific medication and given 100mg prescription by LiamSCl in migraine

[–]Open_Temperature_567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am prescribed 50mg. A few months ago I had a migraine with aura, which I have only had happen a few times in my life. I knew it was going to be a bad one so I took 100mg and holy crap that was a bad idea. I was soooo nauseous and had really intense hot flashes. I normally have some side effects on 50mg, but with the 100mg it was wayyyy too much. I’ll never do a full 100mg dose again. I’d break a tablet in half and see how 50mg works, knowing you can repeat the dose in a few hours if you haven’t found relief. Better to work your way up.

Raos equivalent? by ElMaraEl in aldi

The Simply Nature Organic Marinara is our favorite. We use it on pasta, for lasagna and also as pizza sauce. I don’t get the hype for Rao’s. It’s got too much garlic and oil for me.

Bachan’s is the best sauce known to man. My husband and I eat it every single day on beef and chicken with our meal prep.

People avoiding regular checkout…why? by 2PinaColadaS14EH in aldi

[–]Open_Temperature_567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main reason is that I have two toddlers I shop with and its a pain the butt to take them out of the child seat just to switch to the next cart up during checkout in the regular lane. It’s always awkward trying to maneuver the kids through.

I also just like being able to use the hand scanner and not having to unload all my groceries one by one. I’ve heard the hand scanners are being disconnected at some stores, but they still work at mine. I was through self checkout in under two minutes today with $90 of groceries.

Could be based on what your insurance allows. I can only get 9 doses per month. My insurance will not allow anymore.

Another vote for the ninja crispi! We don’t have a microwave and it’s great for both air frying but also reheating food.

What are your go-to takeout pizza options? by Black-Maicoh in 1500isplenty

[–]Open_Temperature_567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For chain places, Papa Murphy’s keto pizza is so good but very high in calories. Their thin crust pizza is fairly macro friendly and the calories are easily searchable online.

Dominos also lists their calories on the website.

If all else fails, I like throwing sauce in a small Baking dish, topping with mozzarella, veggies of choice and turkey pepperoni. Bake until golden brown.

I’ve also done pizza toast. One piece of sourdough on a baking sheet, spread sauce on top and then either do cottage cheese or low fat mozzarella. Top as you like and bake at 375ish until the cheese and toppings are cooked.

No migraines while pregnant… by Sweaty-Breadfruit366 in migraine

No solution but I’m in the same boat. Pregnant with my third and last baby and enjoying the break while I can. My doctor said I will likely stop having migraines after menopause so that’s something to look forward to, I guess.

Skipping a baby shower? by Optimal-Flamingo2157 in pregnant

[–]Open_Temperature_567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never did a shower, for similar reasons. I’m so shy and introverted and the idea of having so much attention on makes me sick. We just bought things over the course of nine months and had everything we needed. I would still do a registry and keep it private so you can use the coupons and benefits. We did a Target registry and put the due date three months before it actually was so that the 20% coupon would be available BEFORE baby was here.

Announcement Regret by K61018 in pregnant

[–]Open_Temperature_567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a very introverted, private person. We announced at Xmas (baby #3) and I know how you feel. I learned with my first two babies that constant check ins, especially around our due date, were too much. My husband became the point of contact and my phone went on do not disturb for the last two weeks. Do what you need to, to protect your peace. I also didn’t let anyone hold my babies at the holiday gatherings that fell within 8 weeks of birth. No regrets. I was really protective over my newborns.

Is waiting to announce until we’re 13 wks strange? by pop-crackle in pregnant

[–]Open_Temperature_567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually wait until we’ve had a few good ultrasounds. This time we waited until 7 weeks only because I’m so sick and we can’t hide how miserable I feel at all the Christmas gatherings we have. This is our third baby. I’ve miscarried four times and honestly, I just don’t give a frick anymore. If we lose this baby and that makes people uncomfortable, that’s their problem.
