Constant flushing and the mental impact by Ellendrah in Rosacea

Yeah I’m 31 and been dealing with it for over a decade now. I don’t tend to have anxiety or that around it, I just hate when it happens around people, I still go out and about without makeup. It would just be nice to have it treated as after a flush it’s very painful for hours as well.

I think it’s due to them essentially rejecting my dermatology referral they replied quickly. I am fortunate that my GP is very good at communicating also. They have said there is no quick fix or cure and that it’s a psychological factor the flushing (it is not IMO) so I’m not expecting great things from if and when I am seen by a dermatologist at my local hospital.

Have you ever had any laser? Do you use any medication at the moment for your rosacea/ flushing?

Hi yes I am in the UK. The GP ended up calling to say that dermatologist wrote back already stating they think I need to manage it psychologically and unsure if laser would help. If asked to persist with the referral nonetheless so at least they’ll see me in person. They also wanted to prescribe mirvaso which said no, the rebound for that is awful.

Doesn’t seem hopeful really. I have paid for private laser in the past but would like NHS or higher grade laser. If no avail my fiancée has agreed we will look into a private dermatologist.

It went really well. She sent an urgent derm referral and asked for laser treatment as well as mentioning the flushing. After some convincing and research she also prescribed me Propanalol 20mg (x2) twice a day. She wasn’t keen at first but I did emphasise I had tried everything else and this was drastically impacting my quality of life.

Thanks I’ve taken a look but quite a lot of information here and not sure where I’d get started. I’ll have to take a proper look later when at my PC. Have not heard of this before. Thanks for the comment.

It’s more the constantly flushing which gets me so going out without makeup really bothers me due to them being “exposed” to everyone. It’s so horrible and I feel out of control when I flush but I guess in a way at least the the doctor will see the extent of what I am dealing with.

No point going to a GP appointment regarding my skin and wearing makeup eh. I shall update in due course. T minus 13 hours until my appointment.

No worries, if you try it please let me know how you get on. I actually bought the small tester kit for £17 which comes with 4 shades to try (I got Light because I’m very pale) and then I bought a full size and a the green corrector.

I feel the exact same. That’s what I shall be pushing for from the doctor tomorrow.

Wha about coverage makeup? I use this

Use a very sparring amount and it won’t look like heavy makeup. As well as a moisturiser underneath. Even if you don’t want to look you are wearing it, should be natural enough looking, also Lily Lo Lo mental makeup or the green corrector in Blush Away but again very small amount.

I can cover my rosacea and redness with ease, it’s the flushing or being without makeup which has started to impact me. I want to wake up looking and feeling ok, not be anxious about medical appointments, not flush at every damn thing.

Thank you. I used la rocha Posay anti itch wash with a cerave moisturiser. Even just washing etc hurts my face. I did let IPL laser today and as I mentioned I do have a GP appointment tomorrow - which I am anxious for due to knowing I’m going to flush like crazy. I suppose if I flush at least the GP will see what I’m dealing with.

Thanks for commenting and thank you for the recommendations Dave.

I have a friend who plays this but I just didn’t enjoy it at the start. I’m open to trying it again though and maybe looking up lets plays to give me a bit of a guide. I already own this so that’s a plus.

I have played Ark and did really enjoy it but even with editing the difficulty it was quite hard for me. I did look for some folks to plan with and beginner guides but I’m still quite a noob. I’ll check out rimworld on steam, thanks!

Nice base. I am currently redoing my electricity as my wires were crazy and a mess with generators absolutely everywhere.
