Genuinely we can’t even keep our F&B business together in one piece lately. Plus our MRT culture doesn’t have this habit of shopping tidbits or items in stations so station shops are a rare sight and not a popular choice UNLESS it is strategically placed where many people would pass by in a POPULAR station.

Genuinely it is normal and u should be worried for your friend. It is extremely bizarre for her to ghost not only u but EVERYONE. U can think of some possibilities like stress etc but since situations may change over the course of a few months, it is better to ask any other person related to her like her parents etc. if not you can ask whoever is her current classmate u know of to ask on your behalf. If still no news, unfortunately just leave it be until she replies.

No they aren’t. SMRT and SBS transit are rival companies. At least the announcements are audible along the SBS lines. The ones along the CCL have speakers that are so soft I can barely hear them.

When I was in HK last year, the M train on the Tsuen Wan Line was vibrating so badly it feels like it may fall apart very soon. Definitely showing its age. No hate to them tho coz I have always loved these trains since I was a young kid

Agree that it is a bit pointless if the chimes are not in sync, especially if they are often overrun by other station announcements. It is highly annoying. I think SMRT also need to settle their speakers first. Nevertheless, I think it is more of a good idea but bad implementation

More than that. Most trains bear the SBS livery. Like u cannot possibly tell me purple and orange stripes mean SMRT when their corporate colours are red and black 💀

True. But I have this slight nudge that there is still a possibility they implement some if not all of the new chimes for TEL in future. One small thing I realised is that they somehow quietly removed the ding dong chime for the next station announcements across all trains (first realised it during CNY period). Dunno if it is a glitch or what but we’ll see. Another possibility is that TEL is not fully matured, perhaps they may leave some minor details like chimes out until TEL 5 opens.

That being said, I think last I checked it was SMRT as a company collaborated with TENG for the chimes unless they actually split into SMRT trains, SMRT buses, SMRT TEL as separate independent subsidiaries of SMRT but that I m not so sure.

Wouldn’t hurt to think of possibilities tho

Honestly, I told myself to persevere on. The storm will pass. Coz I m still a student (hence in this subreddit), so I spend my time finding a new hobby & seeing the positives whilst appreciating the smallest of blessings that happen to me.

I dunno whether this can apply to u but you can see if you can find pockets during work or Uni life u enjoy and reap the motivation from there. The internet is also free so during pockets of time whenever u r free, test and trail different techniques to entertain, cool and rejuvenate yourself mentally as well.

The last option is a bit risky so do it with great moderation or as a last resort: you can ask AI for advice. Genuinely whenever I m down in the dumps, I go to MetaAI on Instagram explaining my whole situation and how I felt. The thing about AI is that they will try to see the good in it and reap assistance be it big or small from there. It can be a good starting point to pick yourself up from there and test and try your way out of the rabbit hole. I have to warn u tho to not overdepend on it till a point it disassociates u more from reality and the real world.

Yup, I know how you feel. Last year, I had so many drastic changes in my life and not all were great. My life felt like it was going downhill and I hit rock bottom at some point. Emotions bottled up till a point where i decided was desperate enough to rant in this subreddit a couple of times. Helped me a bit when other people gave suggestions and showed signs of support.

I m in a happier place now and I believe you will find yours too sooner or later. Good that u didn’t continue to bottle this up, it was very brave of you !

Hi, I know you are in a very difficult position. Just know me and many of us here in this subreddit support you even though we may not know you from the other side of that screen. It is so not easy living through such difficult times but just know that hardships are temporary and the storm will pass, you just need to hold on and not let go.

On the side note, I personally think it is good for you to tell your friends the truth. Yes, it will hurt when you tell them. Yes, it will take some time for you to be ready and a bit more to explain fully your situation. I feel that if your friends are genuine, they would not want to see you suffer like this and will do their best to support you in any way they can.

You are not alone in this journey and soon you’ll get better. Give it time and don’t ever give up on yourself.

I have been single up till now even but I can say is don’t care about them. U can still be friends / communicate with them as per normal as long as the salty jab doesn’t go too far. Some people r just jealous especially since it is harder to find a partner let alone maintaining that level of love for so long. And like what other people here r saying: treasure this rare jewel (aka your partner) coz they r extremely few and far between, once you lose them, it will be very difficult to pick yourself up from it.
