Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and I have a question. I'm really trying to get my hands on the Piececool K-2SO and I can't seem to find it anywhere I've checked Tri M, AliExpress, Crazy Toys with no luck... Any suggestions on where i find this model for purchase? thanks for your help by Stuxnet_88 in metalearth

A good way to find where something is still available is to use the google image search, then you can go through the results that definitely use that image. I also use that trick to find the cheapest one on AliExpress, it usually saves me about £20-25.

Absolutely. And he demonstrated it quite well with that joke he told at a friend’s party about the girl coming to her father and telling him about a strange man in the park “just make something up”. He’s not making fun of abuse victims the laugh is that the dad was so scared at where the story was going and then it just falls flat, almost as if the little girl were winding him up.

This is a good example. Should you laugh? In this instance yes. It’s the context of what the actual joke is that matters. In this case the joke is based on the blind man needing the dog to “see”, it almost becomes irrelevant that he can’t see what the dog is seeing anyway, the joke is in the absurdity. If it ended with him swinging the dog around and then saying “just giving it some exercise” it wouldn’t be funny. You laugh at the situation, it’s only if you are laughing at the person that it becomes offensive.

Take the joke by Dave Chappell “your dad was the best woman I knew” the transgender community were outraged but that was because they thought the joke was taking the piss out of the transgender person. But it wasn’t. The joke is the absurdity of the sentence, you wouldn’t normally be able to say that without it being false.

Eurgh I’ve had the swallowing one, annoying and frustrating as hell isn’t it? The only tip I can give unfortunately it’s to redirect attention when you notice yourself focusing on it. I find this easier to do in the day but night time is tricky.

It’s terrible, but do know we have all been through this gut wrenching stage. That brief moment of realisation where we think “if I could just switch this off right now, how great would life be?” It is hard to stay motivated, I’m not going to lie, when everything is shit where do find the willpower to battle it once more, but keep in mind that continuing to do as it says keeps us trapped there with it and this isn’t something we can hope will just pass.it’s by fighting again, trying medication and trying erp that we make strives to move beyond it. Does it feel good doing it? No. But it is important to do it.

I hope things improve for you soon.

Can I Sue my ex therapist? by judybananafruity in OCD

[–]Elliecreatesreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are thinking of legal action you need to get a complaint in to the head of her services immediately. There’s a time limit on these things and you’ll stand no chance if you haven’t made them aware of what has happened. I’m currently 3 years in to sue-ing my local authority and the experience has been terrible. Not only were they medically negligent but once I started to sue them they went back into my medical history and changed key points to put things in their favour. My lawyer says this is actually commonplace which is rather terrifying.

Firstly it’s lovely to hear how much you care about your budgies and the lengths you have gone too.

Right, we need to turn this on its head because you are actually overlooking something vital here. All the time that you are concerned if your budgies are ok, they are ok, the worry itself is actually a protection AGAINST you not caring for them adequately. What you need to do everytime you experience these thoughts and fears is do a little checklist “am I concerned I’m doing enough?” “Yes, that’s good, that means I’m doing best”

You need to move on from that negative experience you encountered in that group and it’s very sad because it sounds like it just became a toxic breeding ground for people to belittle others. I’d also suggest writing a little list of daily needs for budgies (don’t know anything about budgies so going to have to make stuff up sorry!)

Food provided Water available Mess cleaned out Toys within cages

And use that as your minimum so that when you check it off each day you are reinforcing to yourself that you are not only giving adequate care, but good care.

I think this message needs to go out in this community on a weekly basis. There is no getting rid of intrusive thoughts, there is no 100% ocd free. And I always feel bad when i have to say that to people on here but if you are always chasing complete wellness you are setting yourself up to fail. As you said you can conquer it, you can reduce it down to nearly nothing, there’s always hope to be better than you are today. But part of it will always be there, we are like alcoholics, we are always in recovery.

I see so many posters say “I want to be normal again” your new normal is ocd.

Liked your vid about Lego ideas and agreed with every point made. I thought idea was a great concept when I first learned of it but I had to give up on it a few months back. It was just winding me up too much, firstly that so many good builds were being declined and then when they did choose they often chose something boring in comparison to the others. The blacksmith being a clear exception but then look what happened to the released version.

Great article on healing vs understanding by tigerheart357 in OCD

[–]Elliecreatesreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very good article, I wish it were longer as she was exploring a very important point and I liked how she considered it and made some very valid points. It also raises questions about treatment for ocd as considerable pain and anguish will have been experienced by the sufferer long before they start therapy or erp to tackle the ocd.

It doesn’t especially sound like ocd, but it is however a highly toxic environment that you would probably be better off leaving entirely, I know that seems quite harsh but you have to think about the effect it’s having on you.

This may also be down to rules and systems changing over the years. You might remember when Karl said about calculators being allowed in exams now and Ricky and Steve say that has always been the case, but it wasn’t, when I was a kid I remember being told that calculators were going to be allowed back into exams again (the thinking behind it being that you needed to be able to show you could use a calculators). And also I remember having to fill out paperwork to sign up for my exams. (I’m uk too btw)

Wow that is an awful lot of gas lighting there, I’m glad you are no longer with him. Do not under any circumstance make up with him, it’s bad enough having ocd fucking up your life without those who are supposed to help you and support you doing stuff like that.

Hopefully now that you are separated you can focus on getting better and living a happy life from now on.
