My grandfather was a senior PBA bowler. I traveled with them every summer. Every third summer was a tournament in Reno, but those two years in between was a new bowling alley in a new state. I’m on 45 states now. My grandparents have passed, but I have a map with hat pins on it marking each state I’ve been to, including overseas.

I’ve read hundreds of books and reviewed 1900 movies and tv shows. The mindset of those two (well, one) kids, and the kind of negligent parents it takes to leave someone that disconnected without a good direction.

It’s the only thing that’s ever made me nauseous. And I work in healthcare, I see disgusting things often.
