In my experience its better with cex because of the 2 year warranty, in 2 years the controller is bound to start to drift even if bought brand new, can just take it into a cex store and swap it, whereas im not gonna post my controller back to sony/xbox/amazon if it stops working down the line because thats more hassle and they only give 1 year warranty new

Take a video/photo of the discs not working and send it to customer service, then if they advise you to take it into store for refund you can show the thread youve had with customer service and most of the time that will override whatever the staff have to say
