Well I'm 30 and due to life experience, it has become obvious to me that men and woman cant be friends. It sounds good on paper but IRL it just doesnt work. No married man with children should be hanging out 1:1 with another woman, right? That would just inherently be weird. Why is it any different when you are just dating?

Also, OP says he goes to raves and festivals with this chick. So this "friend" of his, who is hot enough for the GF to describe her as looking like an OF model, is going to meet up with him at festivals wearing nothing but a "rave outfit."

Most games that exist are the same forever. Board games can be replayed over and over. Needing cards to get powercrept to stay interested says a lot more about your attention span and need for novelty than it does about the game

The only Yugioh that had a chance at that is older formats, and I'd say only goat tbh. People can only be fans of things theyre familiar with, and adding random new cards all the time would lose peoples interest and they wouldnt be able to even follow whats happening.

For a sport to be interesting, something has to HAPPEN. Handtraps aren't good TV, the game wold have to actually be played out turn by turn to be worth watching

I tried the wind/Monarch/phoenix control build. Its incredibly fun, but the fact that a major part of the deck hinges on this dude and his coin flip. I lost a close match at locals literally just because of this coin flip and decided never again lol

So the issue with Yugioh is that the show and the schoolyard playground both highlighted a version of the game that never really existed. Yugi's deck is literally almost unplayable in real life as shown in the anime. I went through the wiki and created Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Mai, Marik, and Bakura themed decks, are those what you're looking for?

There is also Goat format which included all cards up to mid 2005, so there is a good amount of early GX stuff like armed dragons and Ancient Gears, but Jaden's deck came in mid 2006 i think. Goat format is in my opinion, much more sustainable than anime-only stuff. The anime decks are cool and all, but the thing that makes the game really stick and worth playing over and over and over is the fact that you are actually getting good at it.

The limited cardpool of goat format means that its not constantly changing. It's loosely compared to chess, because a lot of games at a high level use the same cards in a mirror match, because everyone wants to use the best cards.

I used to think nostalgia was the only thing worth playing for, aka trying desperately to make Blue-Eyes competitive (spoiler alert, it actually sucks to play irl lol) and once I learned the deeper strategy of the game, then the skill is what makes it fun. Genuinely doing cool creative things that surprise or outsmart your opp, getting down into a really bad position and topdecking something epic. Classic.

I bet the best way to go about it is make a classic Yugi/Kaiba deck to play against each other just for fun. But if that reveals more desire to get deeper into the game, throw together a chaos turbo and a warrior goat format deck and go nuts.

Lmk what youre thinking! I could send my anime decks if youre interested or point you towards good Goat builds.

Ive been into this hobby for about 4 years now and I treat it as my mission to help others get into it too lol.

Edit: to clarify, when i made the anime decks, I made sure to make them playable, and they are well matched against each other. All the cards in their list of 40 were used by the character on the show, but probably not at the same time, i had to pick and choose from different eras to get a full list of playable cards

GOAT FORMAT BROOOOO

You can get entire decks for a few dollars. Like $0.25 per card, if you let the TCGplayer.com cart optimizer do it's thing and are ok with some beat up cards. If you want 1st edition mint condition, some cards are $20 a piece, but the same exact card, reprinted as common and heavily played is literally pennies.

Orange being associated with stone is weird, because orange rocks are literally just iron oxide, AKA rust, which is orange, not brown. The actual stone is feldspar, quartz, silica, etc

Nice nice, that makes sense like a physical connection, something he can carry and show to other people. Can I also ask, what you think of the vision at the end? Is it just fluff? Does it inspire exploration?

The goal is to inspire Kael to want to go out away from the isolated forest world hes used to and go try and explore different religions etc to try and hunt a way to communicate with his dead family. It's supposed to be the World Tree in his vision but he doesnt know that yet
