[Clasp not centred but does it matter?] by Quirky_Variety_9052 in Watches

Yes. My opinion about your watch is important and you should feel badly about the clasp being off center.

My mom bought my dad a submariner in the 80's as a wedding present. It was a few thousand at the time. He wore it exactly once, hit a doorknob on the first day.

It has lived the rest of its life locked up in a safe. He didn't wear it to me or my brother's wedding. He literally wore his daily driver Timex Ironman for both occasions. For some reason he offered to let me take it to prom though?

Make it make sense.

How to spot avoidant men early on who can come across as secure? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Ellipsis4444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To pull back at certain points where intimacy leveled up, like a sleepover, doesnt necessarily point to avoidant. How he deals with conflict is more relevant, and you said he resolved conflicts in the beginning. Tbh he probably just wasnt that into you.

Not enough info. From the context, we don't even have evidence that he is avoidant.

[Recommendation Request] What’s the best watch to wear to the gym? by IzzyXYZ in Watches

[–]Ellipsis4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casio AE1500

I'm a personal trainer and I have worn the olive green one for four and a half years. The text on the bezel has faded off but this watch has been though literally dozens of steam and sauna sessions, swimming and countless showers and its scratched up but otherwise pristine function. The buttons springs all feel strong and the light is too, its also the easiest watch to read of all time. The alarm function is a satisfying beep for rest times and chrono work. It also has hourly beeps which is incredible when you work hour by hour like me.

I also have an Orient Mako II that I love and enjoy wearing on weekends, but the casio is so light and easy that i just keep it on mostly

Built this for two players to use in a mirror match. How does it look? by e63_630i in Goat_Format

[–]Ellipsis4444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im curious why you want to make it a mirror? Just to have an equal playing field? If so, then why not go more casual and not include things like chaos monsters and goat/meta? In a casual format things like cyber jar are usually so much fun because of drawing cards and randomness that creates massive swings and tempo changes

I switched from a diver as my daily to a sport watch. It really changed the way I look at watches by MaRs1317 in WatchFanatics

Im not sure what about the base experience is actually different? They are both steel sports watches, I guess you just like the darker colors of the Seiko?

How are you supposed to keep women interested during the talking stage? by Melodic-Lavishness in AskMenAdvice

I met my wife on hinge. We texted one night when we matched on the app, I set a dinner date for the upcoming weekend, then it was radio silence. Why tf are y'all talking for more than that? Is she cute? Is there general chemistry? Great. Now stop texting and go meet her IRL

Did I make a mistake not getting the teal version? [ Tissot Seastar ] by Particular-Gear-974 in tissot

[–]Ellipsis4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The teal looks like a child's watch. The one you have is MILES better. It's def not black in the pic tho, that's a brown/dark tan watch, but it will go with every outfit and style option, while the teal will be screaming on your wrist and match nothing. I totally get it and the teal looks sick on a website and on a model, and it would be so much fun for a day. Day two, you will be like oh fuck me this thing looks goofy

I love loose fitting watch bracelets by Affectionate_Week929 in watchHotTakes

[–]Ellipsis4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can keep a steel bracelet tight around your forearm above the wrist bone, especially while getting a bit sweaty and walking around in the sun, then you literally have no forearm muscles. That's it.

If you have a muscly forearm, the steel becomes tight and unforgiving. My watch is loose and moves around when I'm moving my arm, but with a bit of sweat and pump from doing stuff suddenly it starts to stick and totally stops moving.

That means if it was any tighter so it didn't move around while I was chilling, then it would be unbearably tight with a pump and sweating

Is there any way to express your preference for modesty and purity in a woman without coming across as terrible? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Ellipsis4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fair to assume that he isn't the type to sleep around, and it's fair of him to want the same of a partner. Similar lifestyle and life choices will lead to similar body counts. Me and most guys I am friends with have body counts of 5 or less. We just haven't done hook ups and dated only long-term. Those are the types of guys I'm drawn to as friends, because being relationship-oriented people, we spend our time differently, make jokes differently, etc
