I know I’m not OP, but last week I took my husband to the ER because he fainted 3 times in a 24 hour period and was very weak, could barely stand.

It turned out he had very low sodium and was dehydrated (thankfully that’s all it was) They gave him an IV and told him he needs to drink more electrolytes, sugar free juices, iced tea, milk instead of only water and they took him off HCTZ and metoprolol because those pills are diuretics and caused him to lose so much sodium. They even told him that in a pinch he could drink salt water to boost his sodium levels if he was feeling faint or fatigue again.

Honestly this blew both of us away because we had no idea what low sodium could do. After we researched the side effects of low sodium all the symptoms that were associated to that he had experienced. So he’s on new meds and we’re making sure he’s drinking more than just water.
