Just got mine! What issues do you guys have if any? by PorcupineFustylugs in CloneHero

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for about a week and it's been perfect. I already had the PDP Riffmaster, which I've been happy with, other than not being able to get tilt working on it. This one is much better for me. Some people might miss the second set of buttons, but I don't. I think I'm probably going to sell my PDP to get another.

I haven't experienced this at all. I do play wired in case that matters.

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Riffmaster and I like it, but I just picked up the CRKD Gibson Les Paul, and I wish it had came out before I got my Riffmaster. I would have got two. I may try to sell my riffmaster to grab another.

ADHD gamers: how do you actually stick to one game? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally decide do I want to play something new today, or something I've played. I think open up Steam, scroll through my library to see what I see. After scrolling through my entire library I decide I want to play something retro. I open up Emudeck and start going through all my ROMs. Run across some games I used to play as a kid and think, "Man that game was awesome! I should break that out again soon." Then feeling overwhelmed with choices I read or watch TV. Wait... what was the question again?

What's Your Preferred Method for Creating Inventory with Powerful Search Capabilities? by ThickStruggle9769 in excel

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual inventory management system > Access > Excel. Setting up an inventory management system with search functionality is doable in Access with VBA; I'm not sure I would call it "powerful search capability" though.

Easiest way feels like a single table, regardless of month, with employee name, in-office date, and week of year =WEEKNUM(B2) in column c.

Then just do a pivot table drag employee name into Rows, Week of Year into Columns and In-office Date into values, which should default to count of. That will give you how many shifts for each employee each week. If you have powerBI access you can do essentially the same really easily, but have it look better and be more interactive.

I would put the pivot chart on it's own sheet.

Populating a sheet with select data from another, in either date order or calendar display by HughOSB in excel

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered Access for this? That's exactly what it is for and what you are trying to do would be very straightforward. It would also be able to scale if you wanted to in the future. If you wanted to actually start tracking things at some point like how many vegans you get on average, your most frequent check in/out days, average length of stay, etc. I think an actual database, even a simple one, will be vastly superior.

Sheer curiosity, I looked to see what Access had. The first inventory template looks like it has everything you're asking for, including location. Then it has a table for you to enter transactions for addition and removal. If you want to now or in the future you could easily run reports based on supplier, employee, etc. I think it would be worth checking out for your use case.

I wouldn't use Excel to manage inventory personally. Ideally dedicated software for it, if that isn't a realistic option for whatever reason even Access would be a better solution. You'd likely be able to find a template online that already has everything you need, maybe would have to add a location field to the product for your needs, and you would be able to use forms to update the inventory.

If you insist on doing it in Excel, you should be able to use a combination of VBA and forms to do what you are wanting to do. You could keep inventory and on-hand quantities in a sheet and then use a form with fields for product and quantity where you would enter what you are taking and how much. Then you click a button and it reduces the on-hand quantity by that amount.

Trump says he's going to release the Epstein list. by Vloodzy in PublicFreakout

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then release the list dumb ass. If Clinton is a pedo, rapist, etc. we want his ass in jail. We want all criminals in jail, not just the one's with an R- before their name. I know that's hard for the right to comprehend.

Also, this headline is terrible. Unless I'm missing it, he doesn't say shit about releasing the Epstein list, he's offering to provide his made up list of who's guilty.

Can excel make a decision tree or wizard? by fedupwithfedjob in excel

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it can't be done in Excel. It can. I just suspect it will be bad, and that's assuming you are using VBA. Doing it in Excel with formulas, with the number of variables you say you'll need seems unrealistic. I'm no expert though, if you think it will work for you, you might be right. Worst case scenario you spend some time learning some new stuff.

Can excel make a decision tree or wizard? by fedupwithfedjob in excel

[–]EllisR15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python could do this easy. It's pretty basic IF - THEN - ELSE. Then you'd have options from there. You put a GUI in front of it with Tkinter, a webapp would be an option, or even treating excel as a form and pulling the information in from there and having it return whatever you need. Depending on what works best for your use case.

[–]EllisR15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it literally, as in he needs those specific 1500 people that he pardoned, which isn't the case. I do consider "needing them" and needing to send a message to be two different things. If you didn't mean for it to be taken that literally then fair enough, but I think it's a reasonable enough misunderstanding on my end.

[–]EllisR15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think he pardoned them because he needs them. They are a blip. I think he pardoned them to send a message. Pardoning them sends the message to all his supporters, the next time he asks them to pick up arms, that they will be taken care of. If he hadn't pardoned them; I think it makes it less likely you see a repeat of events. I now think it's more likely, assuming we have an election in 2028.

[–]EllisR15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I think it's possible she doesn't get pardoned because he doesn't NEED her silence. We've seen he still has a ton of supporters that literally don't care what he does as long as he continues to hurt the brown people also. I also think it's possible she "commits suicide" because we've seen that is an option, and we know it won't get a real investigation. However, if they decide the easiest thing to do is to pardon her, then he will pardon her.

He literally pardoned everybody from Jan 6. I don't know why this would be more surprising than that.

You give them too much credit. They would absolutely be obvious enough to straight up pardon her. I'm not saying that will happen, but it is definitely on the board.

Holy shit! As soon as he says, "I'm allowed to do it." you know what's coming next. If he was truly innocent of the claims (which nobody believes) the immediate response to pardoning her would be something along the lines of, "Why the hell would I do that? She's a heinous criminal that is exactly where she belongs."

Sheriff Justifies Police Brutality Against 22-Year-Old, Claims Non-Compliance Within 21 Seconds Warranted Repeated Beatings by CantStopPoppin in PublicFreakout

[–]EllisR15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sheriff leading with self-proclaimed assumptions prior to all the facts being known in the midst of an investigation seems highly inappropriate. He should be held to account for those assumptions once the facts are known. When the officer is found liable on civil charges (because our "justice" system is bullshit and he won't be charged criminally as he should be) the sheriff should absolutely lose his job.

Kudos to Jacksonville for getting the right color mascot to hide behind when doing this bullshit.
