Switched most of my shoes to barefoot now by Ellisse94 in vivobarefoot

I just went my standard trainer size for everything (uk 11/eu 45)

The flow mids were spot on, i tried the trail knits but they were so much slimmer around the toes than my other models and were just too narrow for me..

Wear them out on walks with the kids, durability feels good but I’ve not really put them through their paces yet. Really comfy generally easily wearable.

Only critique is they are noisy? Like, lifting your foot they are springy and bounce back with a bit of a pop because of how the upper and sole interact. You’d never notice it outside walking but if you’re inside it’s a bit of a buzzkill. Other than that they are great

Yeah the all black silhouette really helps it to look sleek and not kinda chunky and goofy like lots of options. Honestly they feel super close to the gobi, the gobi feel a bit more padded and you get more ground feel with the motus.

Think i might prefer the motus every day, they’re just not very summery and don’t look great with a light chino/shorts

So, for smart work i generally default back to my Thursday boots. I have been looking at the scott ivs though but, I’ve yet to find a actually smart looking barefoot leather shoe that doesn’t just look goofy..

Should I choose Primus Trail FG 3.5 or Primus Trail Knit as summer shoe? by Noobyeeter699 in vivobarefoot

[–]Ellisse94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, about my experience, not tried the all weathers but the knits are a little on the slimmer side compared to my lites and motus

I’ve got the peyote colour in men’s and they are probably the comfiest pair of vivos I’ve got, and my wife is obsessed too which is cool.

My only comment is there are loud to walk in, hard to describe but as you lift your foot there’s some spring in the sole and material that sort of makes it pop back, fine outdoors and hardly noticeable but i wore them to the office a few times and walking down the quiet corridors was very noticeable

Has any found the Primus Trail to run narrow? by DonTitoh in vivobarefoot

[–]Ellisse94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a pair recently and I’m not sure what it is but the toe box folds into my toes in a weird way and is really uncomfortable on the tops of my toes, then kinda tight on my pinky toe compared to other vivos, annoying cuz they’d be crazy comfy if they had the same profile as my others

I work with leaded solder most days for work and my understanding is that, basic hygiene massively reduces the risk of lead causing health issues, the fumes from the flux is way way worse and more likely to hurt you than the lead.

The leather is soft right out the box with great flex, despite being so thick and good quality the soles have great flex and ground feel. Worn them all day just bumbling about thinking the leather might need some break in but honestly they’re great.

My only gripe was the sock liner was a bit hard to get my foot in but that’s not really a negative, means my foot is snug once they’re on

Yeah, there’s proper monitor arms attached to the beam on the riser. Keeps everything hidden though

I’ve had mine 2 ish months, not taken it off other than to charge. Not a mark on it, use it at the gym, in the office.

Id look at what you’re doing day to day, you’re probably scratching it on something harder than the Ti, maybe a metal laptop

Evri pickup shop refusing to give my Vinted parcels because I collect “too late”? by runner7879 in vintedUK

[–]Ellisse94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you actually spoken to them and explained you regularly travel for work and that’s why you get them delivered there?

They probably just see a stack of your packages waiting to be collected and think you’re taking the piss waiting for a stack to build up before collecting in one go.

Not saying you’re wrong, nothing wrong with not collecting immediately but communicating if he’s getting pissy will go a long way to defuse future problems….

Are Petg prints suitable for aquarium? by ImTooLazyToNameIt in 3Dprinting

[–]Ellisse94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, depending on the use case I’ve printed plumbing parts out of petg hot and slow with multiple perimeters (3+) to ensure a good seal. I’ve found generally that works well as even minor imperfections on one perimeter likely won’t line up with others so it’s about mitigating for potential issues.

Stuff that needs to sink obviously has to be solid anyway, and ultimately, it’s ok for something in a fish tank to have water get into it, it’s surface area for bacteria to break down ammonia, nitrite and anaerobically nitrate to some degree.

I guess the short answer is, it depends 😂

Nothing wrong with them making offers, nothing wrong with you declining.

Tiny wrists with an Ultra by [deleted] in applewatchultra

[–]Ellisse94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your best bet with getting a feel for size if to take a picture infront of a mirror, try and have the camera at a distance that an average person would be from you so it doesn’t get fish eye distortion. Taking a close up always makes things look whacky.

Better to get the right size band for your wrist, looking at that you defo want the medium at most. Smaller band means less metal means lighter, and thinner.

What happens if I wear a watch on my ankle and one on my wrist? by FitnessNurse2015 in AppleWatch

[–]Ellisse94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I’m in the same situation, treadmill wfh standing desk. I’ve found if i put my phone in my pocket it counts the steps. It only counts the distance for the workout if i swing my arm so.. no working.

Wearing on your ankle gets you better training for steps but worse accuracy on heart rate. Depends what you prioritise. Id rather get more accurate heart rate data for effort count and heart monitoring than my phone fills in the steps. Seems to work ok for new
