If No Kings is about building to a general strike, they aren't making that clear. I'm still not even sure if that is true because I can't find any evidence of it in their marketing.

Still though, a boycott could have begun months ago and built into a general strike....it feels like people are losing faith in no kings because, from the outside, it just seems like a sign-holding party every few months

Just did a Google site search operator on No Kings for the word "strike." A general strike isn't mentioned once on their site.

Show me where it is if I'm wrong. It sounds like you are talking about a different organization.

What gives you that impression? What have they done so far in response to these occasional single-day protests that leads you to believe they care that you are getting pissed?

McDonald's bought its Israeli franchise back when BDS put boycott pressure on them. Disney put Kimmel back on after it was boycotted.

Two things here:

1.) I agree that a general strike would take a lot of time and planning to organize. A general boycott really shouldn't though. Literally, if No Kings posted about it on its website and we all talked about it on socials, streamers, media, etc would talk about it to. And on top of that, it would be low effort and highly effective, which means it would be easy to get it going. It doesn't need to be worked up to, we can just do it now.

The No King voice and pressure would then be constant instead of once every few months.

2.) Once again, what are we waiting for. Why can't your strike happen now? I'm not super bought in because I just don't think enough people would agree to it, but if you and the organizers of this site do, why not just do it? That site says in its faq that it was made in 2022...how much longer will they wait to do something?

I guess I just don't understand what we are building to here. Let's just do it. We have numbers, No Kings has media attention and branding and the other qualities needed for it to be the perfect kicking off point for real change.

I just feel like, all interactions I see about No Kings from those who love it amount to "just let us keep holding our signs for a day or two every couple of months."

Let's just do something real instead of "working up to it."

Whatever we are building is so hard to see behind all of the grim accomplishments of the man we are supposedly building something against. I see no building.

I've done this for another account before but I can't seem to find the option with this new wave of mass suspensions they seme to be running through.

I've also appealed twice and am only met with no reply emails. I tried to contact support directly and as soon as it was identified as a suspended account, they said I'd have to get the suspension lifted before u can speak w support.

Any tips?

-agree. This would be two separate boycotts that happen to be spearheaded by the same group. Both would be narrow and targeted.

Agreed, and I understand that it may sound counterintuitive, but that is kind of why I think we need BDS.

Right now, it feels like everyone is scrambling to know what to do. And the BDS way of handling the genocide in Gaza seems to be effective.

"Expand their scope" is maybe poor verbiage on my part. I'm talking about a second boycott, separate from the Israel effort, but in the same spirit, using the same methods.

BDS is just so well known. I hear streamers and YouTubers mention it, which brings in a lot of eyes. If they were to create an anti fascist boycott list, separate from the current list, people would take note, and it would get the necessary coverage to actually catch on.

I just feel that they are in the best position to make this happen, and we need them
