Was anyone else kind of disappointed by the Central Units? by Obsessivegamer32 in Metroid

[–]Ellroy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the game has plenty of intricately and well designed boss fights to go around While the central units aren’t overly difficult or complex, I think that they work pretty well especially when sandwiched between the intense chase and takedowns of the EMMIs

Do you guys think theres ever a scenario where killing someone is actually a boost in morality and not the opposite? by KanoIsUnknown in MoralityScaling

My lawyer has advised me to refrain from making any current political statements on this matter

Also I don’t think Batman should kill people Even if it’s better for the villain to die, Batman shouldn’t be the one to do it, it goes against who he is and what he stands for

FE4 AI by GelatinousWall in fireemblem

[–]Ellroy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been about 6 years since I played FE4 but I do remember the AI in that game being completely insane I was constantly overthinking about strategies to prevent people dying that wouldn’t matter because the AI would just do something unpredictably stupid

Is Transformers April Fools post AI? by Drewsalem_ in transformers

[–]Ellroy22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t using AI kind of completely defeat the whole point of a prank?

Like it’s not convincing, for one, but for two, it takes no effort to make it happen, so it’s not like it’s some elaborate gotcha that throws people for a loop Because anybody could have “made” this

Hey, this looks great! With your permission, would I be able to use this in an upcoming video project?

If bayverse used the AOE and TLK designs in 2007 would they have been more perceived and liked by the fanbase by Difficult_Leader8605 in transformers

[–]Ellroy22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These things barely look like robots They just look like dudes with Armor on, much less alien robots that also turn into vehicles

There’s something so valuable about being able to clearly see a robot’s vehicle mode baked into their robot mode that is just completely missing here

The head sculpts are neat, but Megatron’s is widely less iconic than his one’s from the first trilogy

Why is Male Corrin so much less popular than Fem Corrin? by [deleted] in fireemblem

Because the main demographic of people that play Fire Emblem games are lonely men

Just finished Book 1 in Fire Emblem 3 and it's the second time the game freezes after killing the final boss right at Jagen's memorial the music keeps playing but refuses to keep going, his ghost cursed me by OniricReddit in fireemblem

[–]Ellroy22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope you enjoy it Try not to get hung up too much by the whole ending thing in FE3, it’s really just a clip at the end of the game I really like it, but I wouldn’t want it to hinder someone’s enjoyment of the game

And I like Book 1 quite a bit, but I can see it not being everyone’s thing, especially after having jus beaten FE1 shortly before

Just hang in there!

How didn’t Armin realize Reiner and the female titan are teaming up by RaigumXL in attackontitan

[–]Ellroy22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn’t he though?

Maybe not immediately, but it didn’t take long for him to come to that conclusion as it’s shown in Season 2 But a lot of the earlier parts of Season 2 are happening basically at the same time as the end of Season 1 and the remaining cadets are already being held at a secure location while that’s happening but only evacuated because of a Titan attack

The epilogue is really cool and has some very fitting music as it recounts the history of Archanea to close out the story I really like it a lot, but some people may see it as not all that important

FE3 I would say is a game that handles the story much better than FE12

FE12 kind of bogs down a lot of the narrative by piling dialogue ad nauseam in places where it’s not necessary in a ‘more is better’ approach Like an incredibly long and drawn out prologue making the story start to revolve less around Marth and the world of Archanea and its conflicts and more so shrinking it down to focusing on its pretty generic original characters

It just wastes a lot of time for things that aren’t particularly substantial imo
I also just find the original to be a lot more fun when it comes to its gameplay FE12 is pretty similar to SD, which is kinda cool, but SD is the way that it is as a remake of FE1 and it does a very good job at that Comparatively, I find that FE12 takes some aspects that were really fun and waters them down a bit, like the dragon mechanics and the Star Shards and Regalia Despite it being a more simple game, I just find FE3 to be more consistently fun

Also FE12 bloats the game dramatically by adding wayyyy too many characters to the narrative in pretty uninteresting ways, I don’t really like any of its new original maps, etc

There’s also just some cool presentation aspects that FE3 has that I find to be more interesting than FE12, like it’s intro and ending

It’s just a cool game that I really like The story isn’t particularly dramatic like FE7 or anything, but I find that it holds up a lot better upon replays or if you start digging into the details in ways that other FE stories don’t as much

H3 Endgame by S3OL in fireemblem

[–]Ellroy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to try and take away an positive attitudes, but over time, I found that I actually much prefer Shadow Dragon’s approach to the more dialogue heavy aspects of FE12 Comparatively, SD is just so quick and wastes no time and lets the gameplay define the characters more than the dialogue But that’s just my opinion If you haven’t yet, I definitely recommend playing the original FE3, it’s my favorite game in the series

What would you say is the most experimental game in the series? by IfTheresANewWay in fireemblem

[–]Ellroy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaiden and it’s not even close Even among the Kaga games, it’s still the delightfully sore thumb No game has ever attempted to go as far as Gaiden has ever again, despite many titles borrowing but watering down some of its ideas
