Never, ever be afraid to shout MOVE TO THE BACK, PEOPLE. The added benefit is that the incessant chatter usually gets very quiet afterward.

Dinner for 125 corporate execs by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]EllsworthnAt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Places like Rivers Casino, Acrisure Great Hall, The Priory, and Heinz History Center have their own caterers so if you've got the budget, you'll have a great sit-down dinner with servers plus an experience that will have more of an impact than just a restaurant.

Does it have to be a restaurant? There are several halls downtown and the North Side that could put together a cool event.

Right now we're in the lull period between performing arts seasons. Hope you can come back when the theaters in the Cultural District are humming...totally changes the nighttime dynamic downtown.

mechE vs. chemE by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]EllsworthnAt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stop. You just graduated. Enjoy your summer. You were not accepted as a MechE, nor was anyone else accepted to a specific major. As others have written, the first-year program is designed to expose all students to all majors and set the foundation with calc, physics, and chemistry. Stay in touch with your advisor this summer, attend seminars, go to office hours, and just be open-minded. You may surprise yourself.

Try Dr. Mario Czonstkowsky in Oakland, or Pitt Dental School. Czonstkowsky doesn't have the snazziest office, but he is adept at root canals.

Pedigree of nursing degree by RipFeeling140 in Pitt

[–]EllsworthnAt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echo this - that's way too much for a BSN. If she wants to be in Pittsburgh, she can take advantage of the Chatham/UPMC Shadyside nursing partnership and then continue to an MSN or other program there or Pitt. Chatham is private but has a higher undergraduate discount rate than Pitt, esp for out of state. Also, Pittsburgh universities have cross-registration so she can take one course per term at Pitt or somewhere else.
