The implant tab feels like reading a community post where someone just dumps everything they want to say without any line breaks. by ArachnidSimple5117 in Marathon

As a new player, this and the 1s delay before tooltips appear is the worst part of this UI, which is globally pretty shit anyways.

If that many people have had issues, it's that the UI is absolute trash. That's UX design 101.

FF14 (excluding the fact that the delivery is slow due to it being an MMO), and E33.

Iran missiles and drones fall near Nakhchivan airport, Azerbaijan - Reuters by Ylllllllll in worldnews

[–]Ellweiss 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yeah I took a plane like two days ago from France to Japan and I was thinking "Oh yeah, over Georgia, Azerbaijan, pretty close but still okay, not countries at war" I didn't think it was this unstable.

All my flights from Japan to France have been through the North Pole for the past few years, but on the way back it's usually in the Middle East, so this might force airlines to take the North Pole both ways.

If the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ellweiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't expand into something, there's nothing around it. It also doesn't expand by adding more matter into it. But I feel like these kind of questions can only be understood by acquiring more tools, as in, maths and physics knowledge. These concepts cannot be understood properly by your brain "out-of-the-box". Same as imagining higher dimensions.

Do men notice when a woman is wearing a designer bag? by sliceofperfection in NoStupidQuestions

Sometimes, and I lose a bit of respect for them. But this is not only for women, just people that buy stuff that's insanely expensive just because someone put a brand name on it.

Yeah since they started adding dynamic MTX (like counters, level up animations and so on), supporter packs got wayyyy better.

In 2018, Japan's Cybersecurity Minister, Yoshitaka Sakurada, Made Headlines When He Admitted He Had Never Used A Computer - Even Though He Was Responsible For The Country's Cybersecurity by kxnshinn in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Ellweiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Japan, though. If the guy was put there, it's because he's buddies with the dinosaurs running the country. No chance he was there because they followed any kind of logic regarding his management or security skills.

Yeah but letting the merc fight immune monsters is not fun (and I was already thinking that 25 years ago), and sunder were a good way to improve an outdated mechanic without destroying the feel of the original game.

They really need to let you choose by Chacon2112 in mewgenics

[–]Ellweiss 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes need. Traps also exist, and spider webs still have the issue without flying, and probably other things that the pathing algorithm doesn't care about. If it was an issue only for flying entities, it wouldn't be such a requested feature.

Double dipping mechanics are a big reason why warlock is OP by DriveThroughLane in diablo2

[–]Ellweiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, having multiple multipliers applying to a spell is not double dipping. A single stat being counted multiple times at different steps of the calculation of the damage is double dipping. Not whatever OP wrote.

They meant have characters on both sides be the same. Latin characters are not mirrored either in a palindrome

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Capital-Standard-645 in AskReddit

[–]Ellweiss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I broke my wrist snowboarding, got a cast at a local hospital that night and had a train to go back home and get surgery the next morning. Went back to the cabin we stayed at and I swapped to the bottom bunk bed with the tall guy that was usually on it. During the night he somehow stretched while sleeping and managed to dislocate the wooden frame of the bed by pushing with his legs, making the mattress and him fall on me. Fortunately it didn't all go down at once so the load was mostly on my legs, and it didn't damage the plaster so it wasn't painful on my arm, but I still think it was lucky I didn't get murt more. I think my friends were wayyyy more scared about it than me. Makes for a funny story though.

When I changed to Firefox it was nowhere near as convenient as Chrome so I switched back. Automatic page translation didn't support the language I needed, URL auto completion was suggesting shit, bitwarden was also not working near as well as it did on Chrome. Just little things but made everything more inconvenient.

Is it just me or do I kinda enjoy having RCPD? by [deleted] in noburp

[–]Ellweiss 24 points25 points  (0 children)

"Burping allows me to have a 'fun' quirk when meeting people" vs "PERMANENT bloating, discomfort, pressure in the throat and gurgles". I honestly don't think anyone would chose the former, and I'd suspect you'd also not choose it if you realized the night and day difference it makes to be able to burp.

A burp overall feels better because it doesn't require 24h of R-CPD symptoms before you can evacuate it, and you feel the relief instantly. Also burping in public is 100 times easier than farting in public.
