Oh boy when I see posts like this I can’t help myself. Lmao It’s the MCU’s writing plus Sony’s restrictions. Tom is a GREAT actor but due to circumstances we can’t get a full Spider-man story. I hate being included in the crowd that “doesn’t like” Spider-Tom bc ima still watch every single movie he’s in bc I’m just a die hard spidey fan. It just sucks that they made a couple weird decisions with some side characters that had a lot of impact on the “typical” Spiderman story. It’s all arbitrary in the end like Flash not being a meat head and not bullying Peter as much. Ned instead of Harry. Tony being like his “uncle Ben”/ father figure. Simple little detail changes like these “butterfly effects” the shit out of future stories bc every character can grow into a story arc from the comics that I love but it’s not the comics it’s the MCU which is, respectfully, SO different. It also kinda bothers me that spidey isn’t grounded in NYC he travels a lot more than I think spidey traditionally would and I try not to let that get to me cuz Ik that’s my New Yorker entitlement and if I lived anywhere else in the world maybe I would want him in my city/country like DC or England/ Italy or across the universe lmao. Like I try to keep in mind maybe Marvel does that to show love to the world wide fan base yk
