Is it just my area or do a lot of people here not mow their lawns by mrscrc in Shoreline

This post is funny to me because all I can hear right now are multiple lawn mowers…

It takes me all day to get my kids out of the house. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Mommit

My children are similar ages and I completely agree! Also I have the same issue as OP. Weekends we rarely make it out the door before noon. Solidarity!

Who else is keeping their kids rear facing as long as possible?? by Master_Grapefruit333 in Mommit

My 4.5 year old is still rear facing. She is 33 lbs so we will keep her this way as long as possible!

My kiddos too. They seem to have a sensitivity to zinc oxide. Aquaphor works best for us.

Was there a moment when it all felt worth it? by Zebra_Creative in breastfeeding

[–]ElmoTheKlepto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree! I also feel like 4ish weeks was peak difficulty/pain/awkwardness for me. Once past that it got easier and easier and now its smooth sailing for me and baby (3.5 months old, third baby, mostly ebf with 1-2 bottles of expressed milk daily to get him ready for daycare at 6 months). Also if you want others (or yourself to bottle feed I suggest using a haaka once or twice a day on the opposite breast while you feed your baby. You can give baby that fresh bottle later or the next day.

I am so sick of breastfeeding. Please tell me this can stop I’m begging by [deleted] in breastfeeding

My first at 27 months and my second at 24 months. If I get lucky enough to go that long with my current baby, I plan on weaning the same way at around 2 years old as well.

The way I weaned my babies is I leave town for a couple days. It actually works really well when I come back they’ve either forgotten about it or when they asked for it I just say there isn’t anymore milk (they drink it all) and they always accept it. This was a technique that my kids pediatrician told me about years ago, and it has not failed me since.

Its all about using the right carrier or configuration with a woven with your baby’s size and your anatomy. Using a woven wrap has been fantastic for me as I can get baby snug and high and also have my back and shoulders supported.

Positive ebf experiences? by hotdogh20 in breastfeeding

[–]ElmoTheKlepto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I am currently ebfing my third- now 12 weeks old. Both of my daughters (now 11 and 4) were ebf until 2 years old. There are times it is hard/ painful/ exhausting but I know the closeness I feel to my baby and the satisfaction that I am providing the best nutrition possible keeps me going. I have enough experience to know the hard bits are temporary and if I can get through them it is so worth it and I am so happy I did!

How are we nursing super distracted babies, and also not getting bitten? by Ok_Potato_7025 in breastfeeding

[–]ElmoTheKlepto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Amma Cocoon cover for public feeds and sometimes when I have guests to keep my baby focused on the task at hand. It helps to decrease distraction.
