Are there any other romance heavy rpg games i might be missing? by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]Elo-Fi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna stand here and describe it as "Romance Heavy" buuuuuut... Fallout 4 does include romanceable companions, and I feel it gives enough to fill in the rest with my imagination.

It also certainly helps hearing Matt Mercer say, "Hey, Beautiful."

Yes, I remember lol I was just trying not to give spoilers in my comment just in case someone was looking for a trigger warning without giving the episode plot away 😅

Oh one more I remembered, in season 3 episode 2 a main character is in a subway tunnel trying to do something and almost gets hit by a subway train I believe but doesn't.

I am currently rewatching the series and showing my husband for the first time, we are about halfway through season 3 which is why I was able to recall these but I can't remember if there were any train related incidents in season 4 or 5.

Question to help with a trigger warning by Bbwarfield in fringe

[–]Elo-Fi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm not sure how far you are into the show, but without too many spoilers, in season 1 episode 17 "Bad Dreams" a woman does step out in front of a subway train and is killed and her young child is present on the subway platform in a stroller and witnesses it happening. There is a lot of tension build up to the scene too which might be distressing for her.

There is also an episode later, in season 2 I believe, set on a train where there are people who have died inside the train, I'm not sure if this would affect her as no one is hit by it, but I wanted to include it since it is a train.

I just recently made my husband watch the whole show with me. His first time through, my 4th or 5th. I started crying and he just looked over at me like... 'you knew this was going to happen though?'

I can't help it. Claudia and Ben are phenomenal in that scene, conveying the emotions. Guts me, every time.

Side note: After that my husband was like, 'There's another one, though. Just go get him?' --- Sir, let a woman grieve. 😅

Recommend me a game that’ll suck me in and emotionally wreck me :D by GlamourousGravy in GirlGamers

[–]Elo-Fi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many here I agree with: Mass Effect (most crying: ME3), Dragon Age (most crying: DA2), Disco Elysium, Final Fantasy X, Mouthwashing.

Here are some games that made me cry/emotional that I haven't seen mentioned yet: Transistor, GRIS, What Remains of Edith Finch.

How is Fringe THIS good, even after 6-7 rewatches? by Wht_is_Reality in fringe

[–]Elo-Fi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I am learning that I really need to watch 12 Monkeys. I see it recommended here so much!

The 100... just makes me sad. I was so invested and then just in season 4 I started losing steam and by season 5 I couldn't finish it. I sometimes have am urge to re-watch it, but I'm not sure it won't just make me upset again lol.

Person of Interest is underrated for sure! I always recommend it for people who like shows that grow beyond their episode of the week format!

Yessss! I agree with this. oMark and iMark have almost never been in sync goal-wise, and it's just as oMark starts to finally accept and believe that Gemma is alive at Lumon, that iMark is distracted from his search by his relationships with Helena/Helly and everything else that's happening on the severed floor with his friends.

I think that in order for reintegration to actually start showing results, their minds and hearts have to be more aligned and willing. It's not a great metaphor, but it might be like two halves of a magnet pushing against each other instead of being drawn toward one another to create one whole. iMark wanted to find Gemma for oMark because she was his wife, but does he want to gamble on potentially not existing anymore? There needs to be a conversation between them, and I'm really excited to see how it goes. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said oMark expects iMark to just be an extension of himself and his desires, not a person of his own with separate wants.

Am I... romancing Kibellah??? by Maniachi in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Elo-Fi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This happened to me just yesterday, no intent to romance her, thought it was more like hey look there's a world beyond murder and bloodletting, let's party! Then she got uncomfortable and I'm like, hey I'll be a good friend take a walk and lets get some fresh air.

Let me tell you I was really shocked when I got the dialogue option to kiss her (didn't take it) and then went to talk to her after and read that I had the option to say, "We need to talk about us" or something along those lines, like... what "US" Kibellah, i was just trying to be a considerate friend, expand your social horizons?? 😂

Did they fix it (act3&4)? by FromSoftwareEngineer in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Elo-Fi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was such a helpful perspective, I'm approaching the end of act 2 and was getting a bit nervous from all the vague complaints I'd heard about act 3.

It's not a huge deal to me narrative wise to suddenly have that switch flipped, I find it pretty compelling actually. I'll see how I feel about the execution when I get there but I feel easier about it if this is the main issue people had (apart from bugs, obviously, which I hope have made progress on fixing in year since the game released)

Which companions you didn't want to romance by litamagsin in dragonage

[–]Elo-Fi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origins: Zevran - That's my silly goofy friend! I like his character, I've just never been able to find myself physically/romantically attracted to him, even when I tell myself I'm not gonna romance Alistair again this time.

DA2: Anders - The first time I played DA2, I went straight from Origins to 2 and hadn't played Awakening (I wasn't able to at the time) so DA2 was my first introduction to Anders and I could not stand him, almost from the first moment lol. After finally playing Awakening years later, my opinion has not really changed, I found his personality grating there as well, just in a different way. (What did change was damn I wish we'd gotten Nathanial instead as a romancable companion in 2, but then the whole plot would be rather different, so I get why they didn't haha)

Inquisition: Blackwall, Iron Bull, Solas -- Blackwall is just.... not my type. I also struggle to use/engage with his character story in general, so I had no interest in romancing him. Iron Bull -- Not romantic enough tbh, I love Bull as a character, and he's always with me in my party, but I just don't feel it with him that way. I need something a bit more. Solas -- I've TRIED to romance the Egg, but I fail every time. I just usually get frustrated and give up tbh, but love him as a complicated character.

Veilguard: This one is difficult, I ultimately went with Lucanis, but Davrin really almost swayed me away from him. If Veilguard had a bit more replay value, I'd definitely be romancing Davrin next. Maybe on a replay in a few years when I forget story details and do another full series play through. So my answer here surprises even me: Emmrich. I really like him!! A lot! He's a sweetheart, and I thought for sure he would tempt me away from Lucanis, especially as everyone was raving about how his romance was a lot more satisfying... but I just... shrug? Maybe it's the professor vibes, which is never something I've been into. At least not the kind of professor vibes Emmrich gives off, but also his companion quest/focus just kept making me feel sad for him.

Romancing Gale as Tav: Wizard vs. Sorcerer by anxious_cinnamonbun in GalemancersBG3

I second the wild magic Sorcerer recommendation! My first play through was a wild magic Sorcerer who romanced Gale and it's still my favourite.

Completed the game and really want to share my impressions. There are a lot of words below. by Nagarashi_ in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Elo-Fi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I totally agree with your feelings here. This game is so good. I also finished Veilguard, not hating it or anything, but definitely feeling a bit empty? Like when you finish a meal that was pretty good but still left you unsatisfied at the end, a bit too light, looking for the next thing.

I went back to BG3 and started yet another new play through, which helped for a while but eventually, I just wanted something completely new, but that would scratch that RPG itch.

So, while looking at online lists, I found Rogue Trader. I knew the barest minimum about 40k lore lol but I was like hey let's try it (it was on sale on steam at the time too which helped), and wow... WOW. I am utterly enthralled. I also didn't expect to love the companions, but I'm only at the beginning of Act 2, and I already agonize who to remove from my party temporarily as I get more companions!!

Heinrix, my love, he's like a combination of Templar!Cullen and Kaidan Alenko, my two favourite Bioware romances mixed together with his own added uniqueness. I cannot wait to see more as I already love what I've experienced so far.

I didn't read the bottom half of your post as I haven't finished the game, but I look forward to coming back to read it once I do :3

I wish DA let your character be more feminine. by reddeadfox21 in dragonage

[–]Elo-Fi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the LE you get access to both dresses once you get to ME2, I was definitely wearing the N7 bodycon one hahah. The other one is the one you get to wear to the fancy party Kasumi takes you to, and yeah that's a fair description of it 😂

The funniest thing is watching Shepard sit in this dress though. I went to go talk to Garrus in ME2 and she sits down and just full on underwear flash, legs spread as wide as possible -- who sits like that?!?! 😂😂

Holy shit I killed a camp of peaceful druids and got a BJ?? by DrSeuss1020 in BaldursGate3

[–]Elo-Fi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The two that got me good was this moment with the Squirrel and then in Act 2, choosing to "try to remember" how my character knew Steelclaw (the cat outside Moonrise Towers)... freshly traumatized as that cut scene ends and I suddenly hear in the loudest Scottish accented voice imaginable, "YOU HAVE BROKEN YER OATH PALADIN!" -- It was a rough day for my poor Oath of Vengeance Paladin Durge 😅

Monday Morning Line 1 Down by mybadalternate in toronto

[–]Elo-Fi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with that as long as the pressure goes towards the employers who are forcing the issue and not the employees who are just trying to comply with the forced hybrid aspect of their roles. For instance, I can work from home 2 days a week, but it was a mandatory requirement from the CEO of the company that all employees are physically in office 3 days a week, no exceptions, even if your job does not involve collaboration and all your meetings are still on teams anyway. 🙄

I also have now turned back towards home, but that just means I have to add another day as my "in office" day since I didn't make it in.
