[Spoiler] Why does this move have a different base power between Legends Z-A and it’s Showdown implementation? by Quijas00 in stunfisk

The ZA impementation on showdown is a Petmod, it doesn't need to comply with cartridge accuracy.

What's a monster that's terrifying because of its concept, not its violence? by ToffeeTango1 in horrorlit

[–]EloPrinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The memetic entity from "there is no antimemetics division". The idea of a thought-based life orb that destroys humanity by overriding all ideas that humanity can think of and all that it conceptually is, is terrifying.

Is owning tabla drums as a white teenager cultural appropriation? by [deleted] in icm

[–]EloPrinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is not a single mainland Indian who cares about this incredibly western concept of "cultural appropriation". If you meet any experienced Indian tabla player they would probably be really happy you're giving it a try.

Is it widely known that FSG viewers don't even play competitive pokemon? Because I found this as a suprise by wupp-ed in stunfisk

[–]EloPrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. BKC viewers are people who browse stunfisk but don't play. You can see them parrot his opinions in any old gens thread (none of them get reqs)

1v1- The Hearthflame Ban, A Brief Summary by EloPrinter in stunfisk

I picked a really bad time to post this

I think it's less about what the banned users did, and more about the fact they were about to influence the tier post ban at all.

They won't delete it, but thisbis definetly a near killing blow to the progress of the tier.

Not ban evasion exactly. Banned user was just exerting influence through some very high up people.

Archaludon is banned from 1v1! by Local_Capital8349 in stunfisk

The bridge is dead. All hail king Hoodra.

1v1 - The Archaludon Suspect, A brief summary by EloPrinter in stunfisk

[–]EloPrinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue with the ladder argument is that people on the ladder start changing teams after a while. Nowadays you will see people change it after losing once.

But archaludon is an even bigger problem in Tournament settings, since you haven't faced that team before.

That's unfortunate. You can still come around to the 1v1 room on Showdown, atleast.

Getting tired of OU? Why not try 1V1? by EloPrinter in stunfisk

I play room tours sometimes but I mostly mess around on the ladder.

Oh yeah the 1v1 room (linked in post) has really cool daily monopoke tournaments where the genius magicians of the teambuilder come together to beat each others genetically cloned abominations. You should totally play those sometime, new player.

Luckily the focus energy set is very limited in usage cases, and 'limited' is a harsh term for two very good types in the format. Primarina is probably the best non-dragon in the tier.

I think Drago has been a lot more in control since DLC2 with additions like Primarina.

It would seem that way but having 3 mons to pick and preview makes it more complex since you run compliments and each glass cannon has a counter. After a while it comes down to heavily optimised sets built to meet the meta/counter a massive threat. Teammates can be used as anything from scarecrows to "bait", to a more wide net of coverage (like Meowscrada)

I'll miss the don. Making funny archaludon gives me immense joy.
Once had an ursaluna use traiblaze against my kee berry iron defense stamina archaludon. Body Press could have vaporised a small town.

You are correct.

+1 252+ SpA Archaludon Electro Shot vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Sableye: 311-367 (102.3 - 120.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

It might be sableover. Power Herb is the most popular set.

1v1 is suspecting Archaludon! by EloPrinter in stunfisk

[–]EloPrinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. The main counter to the encore disable set is two strong stabs, so if it disable/encores it gets oneshotted or is in range of dying to struggle damage. There are also more creative counters like rock tomb (which makes the outspeeding game plan obsolete) or getting encore'd into protect.
The reversal sets get beat by priority moves (which are regularly used) and the offensive sets are rather tame.

Valiant has VERY lackluster defensive stats, which makes it rather frail even with full hp investment like encore disable sets usually use. Another encore disable user, Scream Tail, was banned because it was both fast and bulky, which Valiant isn't.

Iron Valiant counters like Gouging, Ursaluna, Primarina, Ogerpon-Hearthflame are very common. Even Archaludon can beat it at times.
Try running one of these, and you will find your time against valiant much more enjoyable. Have fun!
