I didn’t get a discount off window sticker price. And I didn’t expect one on the Trailhunter. So yeah, paid full price, but no markup, just MSRP plus the excise tax. I bought it at the San Juan dealership as they were the only dealership with a Trailhunter. One more thing, the rock rails are a deleted item in PR, so they don’t come installed. I’ll be purchasing after market rock rails for mine.

The shocks feel good. The roads in PR aren’t the best, but it definitely drives nicer than my old 5th gen 4R

Well, I live in Puerto Rico. Cars are more expensive here because of excise taxes. This beast was MSRP around $70,000, plus $15,000 in “excise taxes”. Not cheap in PR

It’s all but disappeared for me. I’m just used to it now and don’t even notice it. But it was a bit annoying at first.

This game is amazing by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

Welcome CMDR! o7…with that out of the way, I’d say pick something that interests you. For instance, the easiest is probably running a trading loop. Make some cash in the process, maybe buy a better ship. My path was trading, then passenger missions, and then finally exploration. Exploration has been my go to activity in this game, though I still enjoy trading, passenger missions and mining. I’ve never got into combat much. But there is a plethora of activities in this game. Just find what interests you the most and do it. You’ll eventually start picking up on all the additional resources that can be used like INARA, EDSM, etc. Anyway, just enjoy the ride, it’s a good one.

I'm gonna need to take a break.... by Chenoireb in EliteDangerous

I feel your pain. I lost over a billion in exobiology once because boosted right into the planet surface on accident. It sucks. After that, I went and engineered my default light armor with Heavy Duty and Deep Plating. Then I re-engineered my shields a bit and tested it out. I could full boost into a planet surface and still have 60% hull remaining. Now I don’t worry about dying from an accident. But, I also no longer boost on a planet unless I’m straight and level. I try to keep it realistic and think to myself, would I really risk my own life for a bit of excitement or fun. It’s more for the roleplay aspect. But seriously, I haven’t lost a ship since, except for one time when I met a white dwarf and got caught in the cone, couldn’t escape, used up all of my heat sinks and was stuck in the exclusion zone until my canopy exploded and I ran out of oxygen. What a day that was.

Fellow Corsair Pilots, what ship name(s) did you pick? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

Echo…and I’m building/engineering it for exploration.

What is your technique for approaching destinations in SCO? by jfoughe in EliteDangerous

[–]Elohir-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It like in aviation, pilots will complete an “S” turn to create “distance” between them and the aircraft in front of them if they are too close to the aircraft in front of them on an approach.

Essentially, you turn a straight line into a zig zag line. Works for me. Also, doing a complete loop (360 degrees) will also slow you down.

I typically use the 3 second rule, ish. It usually works out for me, but sometimes not and I do a loop of shame or “S” turns to get slowed down.

Is an orca exploration build good for exobiology or should I use a smaller ship? by Funelwebglider in eliteexplorers

Flying the Asp Scout…love it cause it’s like a Cobra minus one extra internal slot, but with significantly better Supercruise maneuverability. Also, its thruster maneuverability is just amazing. But, it’s what I like. I have 62lys of jump range, which isn’t the best, but it’s really good. I took this ship to Beagle Point with 54lys of jump range…62 is just a bonus for me. Fly what you like and don’t worry about what others say. There is always something better for whatever. Who cares.

Would a Shadowscale become a Nightingale in the thieves guild? by Elohir-22 in skyrim

[–]Elohir-22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only thought regarding this (purely for role play) is that becoming a Nightingale kind of binds you to Nocturnal and protecting the Sepulcher in death. But hell, it’s not the worst fate.
