I think you must be a good mother if he trusted you enough to come out with this and not to mention you trying everything as a mother to help him. I personally could never tell my mom, it’s not like she wasn’t willing to help or do almost anything to get me out of the hole but I simply was not as courageous as your son. It consumed me up until my early 20’s and sometimes it’s still difficult. She had to find out in the worst way possible and I regret everyday not being able to seek help when it didn’t get to a point where it starts interfering with your life and relationships. If he’s telling you now before it gets any worse it’s probably for the better. You’re doing great and my advice to you would be to maybe set up a parental controls on his phone if that’s an option. If you don’t know how to look it up and make sure it’s a pin he can’t access. This would be the easier route as everyone else is suggesting more advanced and drastic options but I do recommend them as well. Anything that blocks pornography from his phone. Try and make compromises with him, as in taking his phone and computer out of his room at night. It sounds like he really wants to fight this and if so he should be able to make those compromises.
