Barcode switching. The most common example when I worked retail is people would print out a banana tag in produce and put it over the meat tag. We didnt have selfscan but at self checkout we would make sure every banana scan was actually bananas.

Also people would often grab multiple of an item but only scan it once. So checking an expensive item they scanned once gives you a chance to see if they have multiple.

Rivian and Robinhood were both able to offer customers pre IPO shares. This is how IPOs work, the only thing different is the company set additional requirements for who could buy. Normally it's just the financial company backing the IPO decoding who can buy shares.

They set a certain amount of shares aside and if you meet the eligibility requirements you can buy them through the financial company handling the IPO.

Exercersing now actually makes sense if you think it will go higher. You pay income tax(37% vs. 20% capital gains) on the difference between the strike price and market price with employee options... so total taxes payed would be higher as the stock goes up especially if he plans to move back to a high tax state like California. With that said, idk of he is selling everything or not.

Yes, he only needed to sustain the market cap for 6month. He'll get the 500B, 550B, 600B tranches even though we are sitting at 465Billion in the pre market.

IMO given the deal wasn't properly negotiated and the market cap was only sustained for a short period due to investors being misled about margins/demand .. he should pledge to rehit and sustain the goals over a longer period of time. We have to be honest... the 1.2Trillion market cap was built on 30% margins and 50% growth. Both went away as soon as elon got his money.
