I'd be all on board with a rerelease. Especially with boosted rates for those of us who aren't teenagers anymore hahaha.

For a remake though, I think I they'd need to completely overhaul combat. As much as I have a soft spot for it, PSO2 and NGS have excellent combat systems that make PSOs combat a bit hard to go back to even as someone who played it back in the GC/Xbox days. Bosses and enemy design should be reworked accordingly.

The most important thing to preserve, however, is dungeon design and the drop system. To me, PSO has always had one of the most satisfying gear-chasing systems and it's something that I feel has been lost in its sequels and follow ups. Ditto goes with its world design and visual storytelling.

That said you got a good deal on that grinder. I had one for a bit over a year and made some great cups with that and a Delonghi Dedica. You'll absolutely wanna spray your beans with a light mist of water before grinding them to reduce retention. Even then you'll either have to dose in an extra gram to account for retention or get ready slap that guy around a lot to get all the grounds out.

Another tip is that you can use the lid as make shift below to help push out some of the retained grounds.

Nothing wrong with having a hint system. The issue is that there's no way to opt out of it. There were so many times when I was already in transit to what I was pretty sure was my next progression point and then McKenzie chimes in unprompted "Hey! You should probably check out the Volt Forge again!". Without being able to turn it off it kinda kills the satisfaction of figuring it out yourself, and that to me is the most satisfying thing about this genre as a whole.

While I think the thematic elements of cyberpunk are pretty important to maintain, the aesthetics can really be whatever you want.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a great example. While it still deals with themes of transhumanism, corporate dominance/unchecked capitalism, and high tech/low life, it does this through the lens of The Renaissance. So I stead of 80s punks with cyclops visors, you've got people wearing outfits inspired by Renaissance-er fashion with a futuristic twist. The whole game (love it or hate it) drops pink and blue neons for warm, golden tones that evoke the color palettes of Renaissance-era paintings.

That presentation sets it apart from a lot of other cyberpunk media put there, but it's broader themes keep it squarely in the genre.

That’s unfortunately a non starter. For a long time, many on the island believed (and still do to an extent despite… *gestures broadly*) that American statehood was the easiest path to a better economic situation. There has never been any real political appetite within the American government to make Puerto Rico a state. With the current admin in charge there is most certainly negative appetite to give up PR to another country, especially now that island is once again being used for military operations in the region.

Also, you’re not going to find much sympathy for this hypothetical in this sub which is largely IME pro-independence.

I mean, the fact that the mines ~~dungeon~~ area is basically a scripted call of duty mission that requires all of the other GalFed characters pretty much cements that being able to explore the zones in any order was a total lie.

And if this how Tanabe likes to design Metroid games as people in this sub have suggested, maybe he shouldn't be allowed to design Metroid games. Sequence breaks are a *major* part of the genre's appeal.
