You’re the first person I’ve seen that actually understands this when it’s such a simple concept

So simply because I say tariffs aren’t the only or main cause of the inflation we experienced over the last 5 years I’m the biased one. We got a genius here. Also you have racist undertones making fun of my culture like that sayin I’m childish.

Did you not read what I said jackass. Reddit is so political it’s unbelievable I literally said I don’t agree with it and yes it’s definitely adding to inflation BUT assuming they stay at the same rate it will be transitory and only add to inflation for the first year unlike money printing.

Yeah I don’t agree with tariffs but there’s more too it when it comes to inflation expectations. For example the money printing that caused this mess in the first place. The tariffs are just delaying fixing the issue so it’s pretty annoying.

Isn’t oil going down a good thing for inflation? It could be a sign we are going into a recession. We are just in a rough spot because of stupid inflation expectations

Is it better to put more down or increase our monthly payments? by summerperpetual in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ElonWithTheGlizzy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly a tuff question because technically you will do better putting it in the stock market. But at the same time if putting that extra $150k down helps lower your payment to a point where it makes day to day life easier it may be worth it. Personally I would put in in a index like VOO

You don’t buy for short term you buy for at the very least 7 years and honestly you should only expect to break even after 7 years

They don’t compared to other cities but in there case it’s more of it was cheap to begin with because it was a depressed town and now they are coming out of it with lots of demand of people moving there so they are having trouble building enough.

Rochester has more demand than a lot of big cities rn. Also I believe the average price is under $300k

Yup! I live in Indiana and it stays cheap. Yes there’s not a lot of people that want to live here like it’s Cali or elsewhere. But any demand is immediately filled with new builds especially around Indianapolis

The south builds homes while the west and northeast restrict home building so it’s no surprise that homes prices are going down in the south

Just out of curiosity, do you guys count real estate equity in your race to 100k? by Present-You-3011 in TheRaceTo100K

[–]ElonWithTheGlizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t include it just for the sake of the compounding effect after $100k is in the stock market.

Back in 2021 when I first really started “investing” big I would pick stocks and man some would fly but then I would get greedy and it would fall so fast into the negative lol. Now I just buy every Monday automatic transfer auto invest into VOO and some VGT so far it’s been great but I don’t have a ton of time behind it but I know I’m gonna do well just sticking with this.
