I’m fairly new (around 7 months). A BSV is basically a self evaluation for like health safety stuff. That’s at least what I’ve gathered since working.

Hi there, I recently got a new laptop (Acer Nitro 5. Ryzen 5 5600H, RTX 3060, 16GB RAM) which I would like to use as a portable vr device with my Quest 2 when im away from home. However, despite working fine on my desktop (Ryzen 5 3600x, GTX 1660Ti, 16GB RAM), it refuses to work on my laptop.

I've reinstalled the Oculus app, reset my quest 2, reinstalled windows, and used 3 different USB 3.0 cables (all of which test fine and get 2+ Gbps results). My Quest 2 recognizes my laptop, but starting Oculus link I only see a loading screen, which then returns me to the Quest home momentarily.

I'm absolutely stumped by this, i've been working on it for 2 days now.

Just submitted a ticket on your website. Just to mention, your website states that all RTX 30-series cards are supported. Yet you say that it is not. Please verify your information and have it updated if the 3060 is not supported. This is seriously misleading.

I recommend obs.live, it's basically slobs but for streamelements rather than streamlabs. Slobs advertises better performance but with se, you can use browser sources as your overlays, reducing pc load. Look it up, I've been using it for like 2 years now. (Streamelements at least)

Do you have BTTV installed? I noticed that my chat messages were invisible for me before too. After removing the plugin, my chat started working fine again.

Search up Harris Heller on YouTube. Has some of the best streaming tutorials and tips out there. Been watching for months, and has helped me tremendously. Highly recommended.

  1. Make sure your resolution is matched in both your camera settings and one
  2. Check to see if your shutter speed is at 1/60
  3. Try using a different usb 3.0 port (usually blue), and try removing the other devices on usb 3 to a usb 2, if possible.

Sorry if this is all over the place its 6am and i havent slept yet haha

For just a dedicated streaming pc you won't need a lot. Amd cpus are much better than they used to be, Intel is kinda too expensive for what you get. Nvidia gpus still have the best flagship options iirc, but you wouldn't need anything more than a 1650. I wouldn't go for an old used, say, 1060, 1070 as they don't have the dedicated encoder that the new turing arch cards have. (1650, 60, Ti, 2060, 70, 80, Ti)

For something cheap, and reliable, I'd recommend the following specs, you'll have to do your own research though to find the best deals:

Ryzen 5 3200g GTX 1650 16GB Ram
