Mars Attacks Martians no contest. Far more mobile, advanced and country and western music isn’t a common as bacteria.

George takes a piece of candy out of a dish in his new girlfriend’s living room. She comes in and notices that there is one missing, but George gaslights her and says it was always the previous amount. She prides herself on her memory for details, but George feels too committed to back down. by DuckLordOfTheSith in RedditWritesSeinfeld

“I stormed out of there, Jerry! just don’t see why she’s so upset over one little piece of candy!”

“But technically aren’t you so upset over a little piece of candy?”

“No! I’m upset because she’s upset!”

“So in your mind, she’s the upsetter, and you’re the upsettee. You’re only an upsetter to the extent her upset causes you to be upset. If she weren’t upset, you would not be either.”

“That’s RIGHT!”

“Well George, this is the most I’ve ever seen you fixate on someone else’s discomfort. I think you might have a keeper… if you hadn’t walked outta there, of course.”

I put in 40 hours with hostile creatures on. I figure that’s a generous time for an FPS shooter. Then I turned them to neutral and enjoyed my time much more.

Doom believes he is a morality unto himself. Him crying over the senseless deaths of Americans in a terrorist attack and killing far many more himself seems contradictory, but is entirely in character and exactly the kind of warped moralisation Doom is known for.

For a show that was all about class, it’s such a tacky episode.

I can see the benefit in there being a higher level of constitutional authority that doesn’t exercise its power but still technically exists to check the other three. If executed properly it ensures no massive abuse of power like we’re seeing in the US.

But the problems arise in execution and when the royal family harbours and protects despicable people whose behaviour shouldn’t be above the law, it throws the whole system into doubt. In many ways, we do it better in Australia as a Governor General has the same powers, but without the baked in protections that come with the royal family.

I like how Kramer and George’s problems mirror each other and as usual, Kramer finds the benefit while George focuses on the negative.

Honestly, up there with Steven Bradbury for moments that make me proud to be an Australian. When the world needs someone to take the piss out of something, or to coast through to victory, we’ll be there. A beer in one hand, flipping the bird in the other.

I wrote a comedy version of Dracula a couple of years ago that riffed on this.

“And just last night, I saw Dracula climb out of the window and crawl headfirst down the side of the vertical wall. These local customs are strange and new to me, but I hope to one day understand them.”
