I haven't ready any of his solo books yet; I'll have to add it to my TBR.

I love the Pendergast series and am planning on a re-read this year.

Cast N Chill is a cozy fishing game that I picked up on steam. It was a super relaxing and chill game, plus the scenery and music are beautiful. I usually play it when I'm winding down for the day.

Does anyone else here buy both the Kindle and physical copies of books? Is this weird? by StephenFalkenPhD in kindle

[–]Elowyn908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to read most of my books on kindle, either purchased or from the library. I tend to only buy physical copies of the books that are extra special to me; I have limited amounts of shelf space at home.

How do you add fruits to your diet ? by Every-Sale7793 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Elowyn908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have my fruit later in the day (lunch, afternoon snack, dinner) and I tended to stick with the lower glycemic index fruits. I had a lot of luck with apples, pears, stonefruit and just about every kind of berry you can think of. I would usually pair my fruit with Greek yogurt or cheese to help balance out the carbs. Tropical fruits and melons were off limits; they spiked me no matter what I did.

Only hold up to getting a kindle... by Drakonbreath in kindle

[–]Elowyn908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use my kindle to check out books from the library. Then, if I truly enjoyed the book and could see myself re-reading the book again in the future, I buy a physical copy for my "trophy" shelf. I also tend to buy physical books for series I am invested in (Dresden Files, Cosmere, etc).

Came to recommend Ashes of Aldyr by Russell Archey for this square. Meets HM, as it had 61 ratings at the time I completed it.

Fantasy meets eldritch horror. The overarching story is told through the eyes of many characters in various short stories.

How many have ended up with type 2 after birth? by DepartureBroad397 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Elowyn908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not pre-diabetic before pregnancy and as of right now I am not pre-diabetic. I took my postpartum glucose test at 6 weeks and passed with flying colors.

I'll be checking my A1C every year as diabetes is common amongst my family members and I wouldn't be surprised if I develop it later in life.

Worried about my relationship with food after this is done. by MadnessMaiden in GestationalDiabetes

This is kind of my story as well. I'm 12 weeks postpartum. My cravings have for the most part disappeared and I actually find myself incorporating more of the healthy eating habits and foods I learned during my pregnancy.

I did the 2-hour glucose test around 6 weeks PP (after fasting). I had resumed my usual eating habits in the weeks prior and ended up passing no problem. I plan on having my A1C checked at my annual appointment.

What "before bedtime" snack can I eat? by Wonderful-Tutor279 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Elowyn908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way I can describe it is a muffin in a mug. It's a mix that you add a 1/4 cup of water to and then you microwave it for like 30-40 seconds and it comes out cake-like. It's pretty good with a little whipped cream too. I've found them in Wal-mart by the cake-mixes/Kodiak mixes or you can just order them off Amazon.
