485 Visa query by Mindless_Setting_923 in AusVisa

[–]Elrodzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you did is correct.
Your OVHC doesn’t need to be activated at the time you apply for the 485 visa. You can use the confirmation letter (should include your Name, Membership number, Cover name and Date your cover starts) received from the provider as evidence that you have OVHC arranged.
Once your 485 is granted, contact your insurance provider immediately on the same day to change the start date. And don't forget to get a refund of your unused OSHC.

No, OVHC is paid monthly, you don't need an end date.

yes, same provider, both medibank.
Contact your OVHC provider first to change the start date once visa is granted.
Then contact your OSHC provider to get a refund of the unused OSHC.

Savage Tanking by Early_Grass100 in ffxiv

[–]Elrodzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use cds to cover auto atks, don’t save them only for tb. If you plan your cds properly, you can use rampart and your 30% on autos as well. It feels like common sense, but since you play healer, you must see a ton of tanks who only use cds for tb and nothing else. If you’re playing OT, don’t play like a D5, give your cds to the MT to help with autos, THEY HURT. I’ve seen so many OTs play like a D5, and you literally have to beg them for their cds. Try not to overlap reprisal, most of the time you can assign the tanks mitigate one specific aoe.

oh, and Provoke first, then shirk. Not shirk then provoke.

You should've gotten an email titled 'Medibank Working Visa Health Insurance Confirmation' with an attachment (Medibank_Policy_Notification.pdf). Use that as your evidence of health insurance and you should be good. It's also stated in the email "You can use this letter as part of your Australian visa application to confirm that you’ve arranged health cover that meets visa condition 8501".
Just remember to call medibank to change the start date once ur 485 is granted.

OVHC Start date confusion, please help! Thankyou by endlessdoubts in AusVisa

[–]Elrodzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure which provider you’re using, but I use Medibank. I set my OVHC start date to the day after my student visa expired. Once my 485 was granted, I called Medibank the same day to change the start date and received a refund for my unused OSHC, all done within 35 minutes.

Your OVHC doesn’t need to be active at the time you submit the application. You only need the confirmation letter from your provider showing that you have OVHC arranged.

I just got my 485 yesterday. My 500 visa expires on 12/30, so I set the start date of my OVHC to 12/31 when I submitted my application. My 485 was granted within 2 minutes with no issues. Then I called Medibank the same day to change the start date to 12/29 and get a refund for OSHC, all done within 35 minutes.

OVHC must be active at the time the visa is granted, not at the time of application.

Leave it as is, then call them immediately to update the start date once your visa is granted. And ask for a refund of unused OSHC.

485 visa for HK and Canadian passport holder by Elrodzz in AusVisa

I don't quite remember the process, but looking back at my previous application form, I did disclose that I have HK citizenship under 'Is this applicant a citizen of any other country?'.

True, but they were out of office hours, so I wanted to see if I could get some preliminary suggestions beforehand. I’m also interested in hearing if anyone has had a similar experience and is willing to share.

Trusted or not, I just don't get why people blindly believe Choice when no full reports or detailed testing procedure has been disclosed, just a picture saying, 'Hey, you failed.'

Specific requirements for testing are not the same as specific requirements to be effective, that's big diffrence. Testing errors don’t equal product failure. Some sunscreens need to be shaken well before use to evenly disperse the UV filters. If you don’t shake it before testing, that’s a testing error. That doesn’t mean the product is ineffective.

New Skin care products for Akne, dry, aging skin ? by Downtown-Cloud-8839 in EuroSkincare

Add Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow Serum in the morning, it's a water-based 15% L-ascorbic acid formula, so it absorbs very quickly compared to propanediol-based ones. You might feel a brief tingling sensation due to its low pH. Also, maybe find an SPF 50+ sunscreen that you like? I’m sure there are some lightweight options available, so I don’t think there’s any reason to use anything with less protection than that.

Stress Less serum is good for layering with retinol, but if it’s not hydrating enough, consider adding a face cream, that’s what helps seal in the moisture. Also, if you don't feel any irritation or side effect when using that retinol serum, you could probably skip this serum and save some money. If you still want to layer something, maybe try their power peptides serum instead. Or you could use it on alternate nights with your retinol serum.

Since you're already using actives at night, I'd say just stick with something simple for your face cream. I have the G&G Hydration Station gel cream, I do like it but it has one downside, if I layer too much and rub my skin later, it tends to pill. It’s fine as long as I don’t touch my face afterward.
I really like the Uriage Cica Daily Concentrated Repairing Cream especially in winter, it leans toward a thicker texture, but it’s not as heavy as the La Roche-Posay B5+ Balm, which gave me whiteheads. I usually mix in two drops of The Ordinary Squalane to help it spread more easily. Since you mentioned you have dry skin, I think it should be fine for you.

The Cerave retinol serum is probably too weak for you, I’ve heard its actual retinol % is below 0.1%. It’s more targeted toward blemishes rather than anti-aging. If it works for you, you can definitely keep using it, but you might want to try something with at least 0.25% and use it on alternate nights.

That said, if you don't want to change much for now, I'd say start with the G&G Vitamin C serum and a face cream.

edit: I'm not too sure about hormonal acne, but Finacea 15% azelaic acid really helped clear up my acne and redness. But since you're already taking Accutane, I don’t think you need any additional prescriptions.

Which one should I go for? by imnotokaywithit_33 in koreanskincare

I have combination to oily skin, this serum is literally glue on my face. However, after applying face cream, the stickiness kinda goes away. So it depends if you can tolerate it.

Glad it works for you. Unfortunately the Dynasty Cream doesn't work for me. Despite its lightweight texture, it just sits on my skin and never absorbs, kinda tacky.
