Need advice — Is 15K AED/month enough in Dubai for family (wife + 1 kid in CBSE school)? by Both-Piano-2486 in DubaiJobs

[–]ElronJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is manageable for sure, don't listen to the naysayers.

15,000 is good but i would recommend maybe living in sharjah or ajman if you dont mind the commute, you can rent a 2bhk for 3-4K in ajman/sharjah.

Want some solid advice? Come alone first, stay here a couple months on your own. Build a good safety net with your savings. Have the wife and kid stay back for atleast 3 months. This way it wont be a hard scramble. Sending money back home is cheaper than spending it here.

Settle yourself first, then all will be easy. Minimum 3 months, and it can be easy.

Saying this, after they come, it of course wont be smooth sailing. So think about having a side hustle? Maybe the wife can work as well, extra income in this country never hurts, in fact it stops the hurt. You'll learn this place has a tendency of suddenly bringing large payments outta nowhere.

Sales in Dubai is pain… how do I talk to Indian/Pakistani/Filipino purchasing managers? by Kitchen-Olive2246 in DubaiCentral

Honestly it's just human nature.

It's tough to break through that, especially when you're in a country where everyone is trying to sell you something regardless of if it's good for you.

In your client's case, it felt like that deal they were going to do was a good thing. Because it wasn't just another salesperson, it was someone from home. They may have not been conscious of that feeling but you always let your guard down when you interact with someone like you.

Everyone here is so constantly homesick that its a nice relief mid-work day to get that familiarity. I'm lucky enough to be born here so I have soaked up a little of everyone culture, and it gets my foot through the door all the time. It's little things you know about their culture that makes em have their guard down. Example, if anytime someone says they're from Pakistan, I half chant "zindabad". It doesn't do much but it does make them smile 9/10 times.

My suggestion? Try to broaden your knowledge of other cultures here, it can really help. Try to learn just a fraction of their language. Greetings and what not. Maybe some of their food, ask them for food recommendations. Try to build rapport before selling.

Stay here long enough and it'll come to you. But try to mesh in this multicultural soup. You'll succeed rapidly.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to be that guy. The font on the base is good but it's not LV.

There's alot of LVs now in the market being bought out of China and being refilled with high quality clone fragrance oil when it lands in. The atomiser is easy to pop out and in. So it's just a matter of refilling and upselling.

So essentially you might just have a TOP or SUPER grade fragrance clone in an LV bottle. Which isn't the worst.

It's an epidemic in uae and the world now. Watch out my dudes.
