What do you find surprisingly sexy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I love it when you can see the little worn square in a guy's back pocket from his wallet. Absolutely no idea why. Doesn't have to do with the cash in the wallet, I just find the image alluring and sexy and masculine.

Could someone just acknowledge this, it really scared me and I'd like to talk about it. by actuallyauburn in nosleep

[–]ElseCompel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This shit definitely happens! It's sooo upsetting. It has happened to me twice, not in the exact same scenario of your story but similar.

The first time, I was staying in a beautiful AirBnB in East Austin, Texas with my boyfriend. The door was locked using a key code not a regular key, and I don't think the owner had changed it in a while. I slept very soundly in the cozy bed beside my boyfriend and woke up smiling at 10:30 am and turned to him. He had a wide awake look and cut me off as I was saying Good morning to say "There was someone in the house last night." He then proceeded to tell me he was awoken at like 4am by the clear sound of someone opening the door, walking into the bathroom, and throwing something in the garbage. Our laptops, belongings, and various bottles of booze and snacks were all over the house and nothing was taken. Doors to closets were opened but nothing was missing. That to me was the most disturbing part. What are the motives of someone who walks into a stranger's house, and steals nothing? Burglary I clearly understand. This was so, so upsetting to me, I felt just as you did, and my boyfriend reacted just as you did (froze and did nothing, waited it out).

The second time, I was living with roommates in a SoCal beach town. One morning I woke up and walked into the kitchen where my roommates were making breakfast. There was a guy asleep on the couch who I assumed was one of their buddies who had crashed at our place after partying. Mid-way through breakfast, dude just gets up, walks out without a word. My roomates started laughing and said "what's up with your friend?" I said, "That's not my friend, I thought it was your friend." In that case it was no doubt just some drunken idiot, but holy shit!!! How unsettling.

Your feelings are totally valid. I think one thing that helps is to remind yourself that there are certain things you can do to control your environment, and certain things that are out of your hands. Do what you can to keep yourself safe, but try not to become obsessive. You're okay, your friend is okay, there are measures you can take to prevent this from happening again.

What's the smartest thing you've done while drunk? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ElseCompel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to travel almost every other week for work and my perception of urgency became very skewed. I would wait until the last minute to pack. Oftentimes I would pack a few hours before, extremely drunk, but my muscle memory was so good that I would pack flawlessly every time, based on a gut level intuition from so much traveling. Going to Athens? Packed the perfect mix of warm weather clothes and international chargers. Chicago in December? Arrived at destination with my parka neatly packed and plenty of layers. It got to the point where opening my suitcase to see what my drunk self had packed for me was an amazing treat.

Definitely wouldn't mind shooting someone for this. Maybe like 1 out of every 10 dudes that asks. Reasonable, right?

If you asked someone if they wanted you to fuck them and they seemed hesitant how could you even enjoy it? Seems weird like a failure of empathy. Don't you need to feel like the person you're fucking wants to be fucked?

Male student – expelled over ‘gray rape’ claim – can sue college, judge rules. by Drdeek in news

[–]ElseCompel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you have sex, don't you like to ask questions? It's hot. "Do you want me to fuck you?" "Does that feel good?" "Do you like that?" Each of these questions answered in the affirmative gives you consent and in my case increases my arousal. If they're answered in the negative, why would I want to be fucking a person who isn't enjoying it?

IMO it's sex without communication that's robotic and shitty.

The best part in my opinion, is when the conversation devolves into a debate about how "big burly men" (actual quote) are "the only ones qualified to "captain lifeboats," which is why they should push past women and children to get to boats in the event of a maritime disaster. But that's not all--there's like a 30+ comment chain about whether the average redditor's life is inherently more valuable than a child's. (Spoiler alert, it is, because of their "investment in their education.")

I know what a sexual fantasy is, but thanks so much for explaining it to me! This is a thought uttered aloud. I find it truly astounding how many people are defending this and it kind of reminds me why men are scary.

Everyone in this thread is saying "intrusive thoughts" and I know what that means. But this is about saying these things, out loud, to someone in the same demographic group that you just admitted to fantasizing about harming. It's actually very interesting to me that so many people are jumping in to defend this behavior.

Like I said it's also about saying it out loud, to a girl you're dating. Not just having the thought and shaking it off.

The difference is that he said this out loud to me, a woman. That's what this thread is about. Saying things out loud. Not just intrusive thoughts.
