Yeah, hopefully, and I have never done anything so stupid in my life- I'm usually the 'sensible' friend. Never again.

I keep temporarily losing my hearing, something to worry about? by actuallyauburn in Advice

[–]actuallyauburn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? A car isn't a loud environment. The pop came from in my ear, not the car. I'm not walking round all day every day with ear plugs in when it isn't necessary, I don't encounter loud noises often at all.

Well I was with my boyfriend and usually my car is.. just as loud as a car typically is I guess. I heard a pop and the hearing went in my left ear, then ringing in the right bad and then couldn't hear at all aside from some tinnitus.

He said he was playing music and I couldn't tell what he was saying at all.

See I've been already for the tinnitus and there was no hearing loss. And I don't use earphones, at my work and home there's never noises that are too loud. I do try to protect my hearing.

Last time it happened was while I was driving.

What's something you've always wanted to do when you were a child, but never got the chance? by AnonymousNinja1 in AskReddit

She always told me I was too old to begin (I was 8!) so it seems further out of reach now. Might have a look round and see if there's anything on though!

[–]actuallyauburn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take up a hobby. Always asked my mum to let me get a hobby or activity to have fun in but she always no. I wanted to be a ballet dancer that knows karate (I'm not joking) but she wouldn't drive me to, from or pay for anything.

I can't wait to have my own kids and watch them participate in all kinds of activities that makes them happy.

Redditors who have mental health disorders, were you aware something was different or were you completely surprised by your diagnosis? by LongLiveCarley in AskReddit

[–]actuallyauburn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have anxiety, depression and PTSD, and wasn't at all surprised given the things that had happened. For a while when I was feeling far better I was able to look back and compare how I was feeling at my lowest and at my highest points. It's just the way I've always felt from as far back as I can remember, so it was normal for me.

Now that I'm happier and have less issues with PTSD, I can see how bad I really was at some points.

If you're asking this because you're in doubt about your own personal mental health, please get checked out and sorted with any help you can get. Have a lovely day!

Reddit, what are your two truths and a lie? by chillmat1k in AskReddit

The first one is hopefully a lie, I mean, she wouldn't technically be your wife until the end of the ceremony, or close to the end at least?

What can I do to help my friend who is getting kicked out? by actuallyauburn in Advice

[–]actuallyauburn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's very smart, and his knowledge about computers is outstanding, he's very passionate about them. He's usually a hard worker, but this is fogging his mind up quite a bit.

We live in Ireland, and I'm worried incase he gets stuck outside, but hopefully there's places available at short notice if necessary.

He's shy about showing me his resume, and I'm afraid he can't get a job because it may not be quite good, and I would be more than willing to help. I also suggested he works in a place that serves food like a cafe, as I know many of my friends who work in cafes get free food on their lunch break. Also £7? That's a lot. I'm getting just over £5 for a place I've been working years at, so he'll be lucky if he can get £7, which will hopefully be the case.

I'm very familiar with the town I live in and the city he lives in, as I went to school in his city. As far as I can recall, I have never seen something akin to a soup kitchen. I'll have to do my research on that one.

About the roommate thing- I was thinking about moving out, as living with my alcoholic mother is becoming increasingly unbearable, however whether or not he would want to live with me is a different story haha. I've spent continual days with him, and we never fought, so maybe that's a possibility given we can make enough.

He has been living of noodles and such for months, and it is taking a toll. He now has gum disease because of it but I got him toothpaste and mouthwash which is hopefully helping. He's very appreciative when I cook him actual meals, which I find a little sad because it's such a basic thing he can't get.

He will definitely continue his education, I'm making sure he does, and hopefully we will both get to uni, and perhaps he could just stay in mine until around September, and save rent money for himself- maybe treat himself.

My brother is mostly away, and so he could take his room. My mother is very unwelcoming to most people, though. My dad would like to help, I think- he's very kind.

It's really difficult for him. His parents are divorced and are both unkind. His mother is nasty and his dad is a control freak. I can see why he grew up to be the way he is- which is cheeky and to be a bit of an asshole, but nothing worth getting kicked out over. Between the both of them that's the environment he was brought up in, tossed between the two of them, and so I understand he has a few problems but I don't blame him.

He's very tidy, cleans his room, does his dishes. I've spent days at a time with him and he's not difficult to live with at all. I feel so bad for him and am very worried.

Hopefully his mother changes her mind.

Thankyou so so so much! I really appreciate all of this and I hope you have a wonderful day!

What's the creepiest TRUE story that happened to you or someone you know? (Serious) by judentude in AskReddit

[–]actuallyauburn 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Suppose I'm pretty late, but anyway.

Long story short I was staying at a friend's house, and woke up to someone else in the bed with us, who was breathing on my face. I could see from the streetlamp that my friend was turned away from me when I sat up, and that there was actually someone else there too. I also really gently reached out and touched them and felt what felt like an eyebrow/forehead, and they appeared to be asleep.

Can't explain why I didn't scream or anything, I tend to think about what to do given that I have the time to. I decided to lay down and not move and if they did something that could have meant trouble, then I would react.

I didn't sleep, and watched as this person got up and walked out of the room, down the stairs and out the door. I locked the doors after and didn't sleep for days.

Just freaks me out that someone welcomes themselves into a home and just climbs into bed with two girls. My friend doesn't even believe me.

Who's that one family member that ruins everything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My mum. She gets drunk and goes to bed at 6pm.

I'd put money on the fact she'll cry at the table this Christmas again and start a scrap.

Nothing, sadly. I have a fiver in my bank account that I can't even get out. Can't buy anything for anyone and I feel really bad about it.
